Default FUUUUUUUU...shredded rear tire.

Need some opinions. My passenger rear tire got cut up somehow. I know I drove through a construction area a few times Saturday so that was probably it.

Anyway, I only have about 5k miles on both rear tires (lots of tread left) but they are about 2 years old. They are Michelin PS2s. Should I replace both or would it be alright to replace just the one?

I'd say replace both for even balance & safety.

Actually, no need to replace them both. Search CL/Ebay for a used one. If, by chance, that's a 265/35/19, I have a PS2 in that size. I also have some pairs of slightly used 245/35/19 and 295/30/19 PS2s.

That's a great idea but I do have a $83.72 prorated credit from the hazard warranty left with tirerack. That's why I'm wondering if a new tire will give me drivability issues.

These things are pricey though so used might still make sense.

It's a 275/35/18 btw. I know a lot of people run PS2s so if anyone has a single they are lookin to get rid of lemme know.

The same thing happened to me a week or two ago. I went with two new rear tires.

Dang. I only have 265/35 in 18" size. If it were me and you couldn't find a used one, I'd get just one. 5k miles isn't that much on a PS2.
