Im not trying to call anyone out, just trying to see since im deciding wether to go new or used. Im seeing used 18'' volks go for over $2.8k w/o shipping and 19'' volks over $3k w/o shipping (no tires for any). Some were just test fitted and some with actual miles. Im getting quotes on 19'' volks that are the same wheels for $2.6k SHIPPED without tires. All i know is if the volks are test fitted or even opened the price should automatically go down. All the good deals im seeing are $2k-$2.5k but with worn tires and crazy curb rashes PICKED UP.

and one thing i hate about volks is the fact that 90% of their wheels are darker colored. Gunmetal, 5different blacks, bronze, etc. How many light colored Volks did they come out with? Two? lol, i know they have white and that so called silver (mercury silver) which looks almost gunmetal. I wish they had a more oem finish volk

i don't understand why people are afraid of curbage.. its a relatively cheap fix and if your intentions are to the keep the wheels long term, you can get normally expensive rims for a great deal...
Volk wheel prices have been increasing over the years (material costs, Yen conversion, shipping etc).. so the used prices are also increasing as well.
if dont want to spend the money on used, then don't cuz someone else will.. time = money..
normally, the hard to get wheel sizes and colors are special ordered and take anywhere from 60 to 90+ days.. if you can wait, and want to spend the bigger bucks to get what you want, then new is definitely the way to go.. but if u can find the size you want , the color you can live with, and you can get it say, within a week, why not help another forum member out and pick up the used set? (granted the seller has good iTrader ratings)

You cannot restore curbed volks back to their original finish. To fix the rash, you have to strip the anodizing which cannot be refinished. You are then left with a bare wheel lip, and sometimes a noticeable line where the shop strips the anodizing to. Its not as simple as you make it seem

LE's are a special case because they don't have a true polished lip, its machined and powdercoated, not anodized, so they are slightly easier to repair. I should have made my statement more specific to multipiece volks with annodized lips. Those can't be repaired to their original finish

People can ask any price for any used (or new for that matter) product they are selling. Either make an honest offer or quit wasting the seller's time.
I've sold two used sets of Volks, quite quickly, for ~$2500 (18x9, 18x10 SF Challenges with decent tires, 19x8.5, 19x9.5 TE37s with good tires).
And it's tire TREAD, not THREAD. Dang!

Where are you getting this information? As far as I know and my experience with detailing, the LE lips are a clearcoat finish, as they are not damaged by wheel cleaners like normal anodized GT/SF wheel finishes are. This would indicate that they are not anodized since the acidic nature of wheel cleaners destroys the anodizing

okay so you sold your 18'' volks for around $2.5k picked up im guessing? With so called DECENT tires? That is 9''/10'' wide? And you think thats a fair deal? If u say so man, your obviously on the other side looking in. Dont get mad just cuz other people think these prices are ridiculous. All i know is ive been getting quotes for SF winnings/challenge, TE37 etc. for $2.6k-$2.8k shipped with all the hardware included. Then i can buy used tires for around $400 shipped. Thats 19x9.5/10.5 brand new volks with used tires for around $3k SHIPPED.
And i apologize for the spelling error

FYI - tires are the only thing connecting you to the road.

I just sold a set of used gunmetal Volk GT7's with lugs, center caps, and good tires for $1650. You should be watching the marketplace section for stuff like this.
I've always tried to be fair with my pricing and generally ask for about 50% of the new cost. I've always sold my stuff fairly quickly by doing this. I have noticed, however, some people ask way too much for their used stuff.
