Would it be okay and safe to do this?
I have a 2005 Z, it calls for 225/50/17 on front and 235 on rear. I was wondering if I could mount 225's all around. Will I be able to tell a difference? Will it look any different with the naked eye? Drive differently?? Thanks!

there might be an issue with the vdc having the same size tires all around but Im not 100% sure. Why would you want to do it though?

^ i dont think so.
IIRC, vdc only hates you if the front tires are taller than the rear ones.

/\ Correct.
But OP, why do you want to do this?

It's going to look pretty dumb with wider wheels on the front!

Um ... what>? He still cant rotate them... the OEM rims are staggard.
He could of course take the tire off the rim and rotate...but im sure that would cost close to an alignment anyway.

Correct. I believe 17 inch wheels are
Front 7.0 inches
Rear 7.5 inches

Wow, OP sounds like a cheap-skate who wants to buy the cheapest possible tires for
their Z.

The Z is a sports car, and the tire sizes were not randomly picked out. Your car will not handle as well if you do that. I say sell your Z if your looking for an economical ride. If cars are your thing, it may not be a big issue to save some extra cash for tires.

True, but still plenty of room to rotate if they were all 225s or even all 235s.

Sadly this is what I see around here too often. People buying awful crappy rims and tires that have worse sizes and offsets than the factory and putting them on thinking that because its aftermarket its better. Its not.
