Default Is this normal wear?

I need to take a pic, but my inner parts of my rear tires are worn way down compared to the center and outer. It this normal wear on a 350z? I am not getting over 10-12k a set for tires these days. I have all stock suspension so the car has never needed an alignment and has tracked straight since the day I got her.

Even with stock suspension shouldn't I have normal wear in the rear and can that be adjusted a little if it's off?

You track your car, so stock suspension or not, alignment can be off.....stuff moves, tweaks, settles, etc.......

However, the Z stock has very limited range of adjustment - with the factory toe bolt only......camber arm is solid, no adjustment stock.

Regardless investing in the lower camber arm and toe bolt IMHO of the Z are neccesities for anyone other than the typical daily driver...

True, I do track my car, but these tires haven't seen the track yet. Been really busy this year. Probably time to have it checked.

The inside of my rears wear as well, as do everyone elses I'm sure. My stock seems to sit with a lot of rear camber, enough that you can see it anyways. You could always just swap tires from side to side if you want to get every last bit out of them.

I track my Z also, also the hard braking, cornering and use of curbs can do your alignment any good. So far mine has been fine even after getting air born off a couple curbs but I'll definetely get my alignment checked again in the spring. I eat my tires up anyways though, I have only put 6K miles on my Z this year and I'm on my 2nd set of tires and the fronts are already in need of changing.

Do you guys find chunks come out of your stock Potenza's rather than proper wear? If I spin the rear tires I get chunks coming out of them, if I go to the track and drive hard I get huge chunks missing out of my front tires

I figure your alignment must be off then........I have NTB 5 year alignment plan, i used to go to the one off 420 and bandera road, next to the fedex/kinko's........i would take wooden ramps and get my car up on the alignment rack.

those guys there let me hang out back and watch, set my car to the specs i asked for etc.....

you may have something off and with these new tires, and alignment off you can be having a premature wear issue.........

the 1,3 or 5 year alignment specials are worth it to me.....

Do you remember how much it was for that? I heard per some local guys about a $99 lifetime alignment somewhere off Bandera road. Not sure of the place though. I would like to get it checked free first of course. So I might just take it to NTB.

Thanks for the info.

Okay, this would be why! Just had it aligned this morning at NTB and man was it off. It wore out my stock tires the same way and I didn't think anything of it because I tracked the car a lot with those tires, so now I knew something was up. See what you guys think on this. Came from the factory like this. My friends NISMO 350Z is doing the same thing too, I just told him to go get his checked.

Front tire toe is interesting. Does the car feel stable straight line at 100 MPH?

The red part is the tire. That part is worn way down. I will try to get some pics shortly.

Left tire....right side of it worn in. 4/32 left compared to 6/32+ on the left.

Right tire. Left side of it 3/32 compared to 6-7/32s on the right of it.

Photos very helpful.

Tires show appropriate wear for negative camber. Swap them and you may get another 5,000 miles.

You just have camber issues. If your tires don't rub, kick them out a little, this will help with the negative camber wear.

Even factory comes with negative camber. I'd say its normal.. Flip the tires inside out to get more out of them.

Sadly I have a event coming up that requires at least 4/32. Part of my rear tires don't pass that, and after 2 more track events before that event, they will be below that even more. So I will have to get new tires by October.

I am having similar issues, this thread is helpful to an extent but I will be posting another thread with my issues. Don't want to hijack your thread

I was told that I have a feathering issue, so I need to get it checked as well. My current set of tires have about 2.5K miles have more wear on the outer patch of the front left tire. I have done about 7 track days (~550-600 track miles) on them.

Actually its fully adjustable, the arm is solid but there is a ecentric bolt (same as toe bolt) on the camber arm. Range is limited.
