Question tire:Front 235/40/18 rear 265/35/18?

Hey guys,

well i came accross a good deal on some p45's, they do come with tires.. and since the economy is in a big $h!th0le i can't really afford to spend alot on rims. i've never been a rim/tire guy.. the only thing i know is that the lower the offset the more flush the wheels would be.

here are the specs of the wheels:

Front: Rota P45F 18x8.5 +30 w/ 235/40-18
Rear: Rota P45R 18x9.5 +35 w/ 265/35-18
Fusion ZRi's all the way around.

the tires have about 90% thread left..

now my car is on stock height, no suspension mods at all. i was wondering if this setup would work on my car. i don't want to do any wheel stretching since the offset is a bit high, which Serf suggested spacers. i will lower my car in the near future once i come accross a good set of springs.

**i tried searching, got a couple of answers.. but i would like some reassurance from the wheel gurus here lol**

here is a picture of my car for reference.. i tried searching for a sideprofile to show my wheelgap

I have 18x9+20 and 18x10+20.. I'm currently running 245/40/18 and 275/40/18. I have pics of it w/o being lowered.. I just picked up a set of Eibach Coilovers that will be installed as soon I step foot in the US. Take a look at the pic.. you may be able to judge what exactly your looking for in tire and suspension. I know there's a 2mm difference in the wheel offset.. but I think you can get a pretty good image of what you'll get. I hope this helps in any way.

I'm running those exact tire sizes on a 18x9.5 and 10.5 set up. I had to dump my car like crazy to eliminate my gap.

Just walk away, the wheels are all wrong and the tires are all wrong. Offset and tire size.

I have no front lip and I probably lowered myself more than two inches all around. I wanted the semi-stretched look. But next time I will go with 275/35/18 and 245/35/18.

the rims can be cured by spacers.. but my main concern is the tires..

The 265's will make good front tires , so you will still need to buy a set of rear tires. Spacers are going to set you back around $220. So after buying tires and spacers, IS IT WORTH IT?

It looks very very nice.. but if you go lower on the profile your going to have to lower the car more to get rid of the gap. I had a similar problem with my previous car.

The high offset will allow you to run wide tires - you could also add spacers if you really like the wheel. Just know that the offset is about 10-15mm higher than what most would suggest for that wheel width.
