Default anyone using wheel locks..point me in the right direction please

i just got my new wheels and dont feel like having them stolen..so which wheel locks are good

My pit bull sleeps REAL close to my car. Other than that...Im happy with Gorilla and a sensetive alarm

Default Nissan

I got Nissan wheel locks (from Coutesy Parts) and they seem nicely made and of good quality.

I figured the Nissan lugs were most likely to fit properly and not damage the wheels.

How can I order Gorilla locks? I tried emailing them but no answer.

I also used the Nissan locks from Courtesy. They fit perfect and come with all the features you would want in wheel locks: key, nice packaging, good fitment, and re-order forms with clear instructions in case you lose the key.

As a side note, I took my Z in for an alignment the other day and forgot to mention the locks or the location of the key. The Nissan tech found the key in the trunk where the jack is. I presume this is a good place to keep it in case you forget to mention it to service folks. Maybe I should consider moving it elsewhere.

I couldn't find on your website.
How much for the Gorilla Guard locks? They are the best security-wise right?

Is there any difference between the Acorn/Short Shank/Standard Mag in terms of security or price?
I think 12mmx1.25 is the right size.

i got McGuard. got 'em just cuz they were gunmetal and they matched my rims. i guess all locks are about the same right???

Don't know. Supposedly with most you can just hammer a socket onto them and turn them off. Hoping the Gorilla ones are better.

Any wheel lock can be removed by a skilled mechanic or crook. Hammering a socket (or special tool) on to the lock will work with pretty much any locking lug nut unless you over-tighten it. If you over tighten the locks you risk damaging the wheel, warping the rotor, or just not being able to get it off if you get a flat.

If you live in a high crime area you could buy several sets and put a few locks on each wheel. But in the end a pro with the proper tools can remove wheel locks fairly quickly.

Wheels locks are still worth having. They stop casual thieves and poorly prepaired thieves. They also discourage the pros since hammering on the removal tool makes noise and require more privacy and time.

I wouldn't waste much time looking for the most secure wheel locks. Any decent brand of lock is case hardened. Beyond that, there is not much you can do.
