Tire options for Nismo Z / Grand Touring
Hi Folks,
I'm running a set of Grand Touring wheels (same size as Nismo) and am contemplating the following setup:
265/35/18 (F)
and
285/30/19 or 295/30/19 (R)
Trying to decide on the rears as most 295 tires seems to want a 10.5" wide rim. The GT rims are only 10" wide.
Does anyone have this setup?
Thanks,
Dan

i have 255/40/18 and 285/35/19. I wish I would've gone with a lower profile now with a 35 front and 30 rear set up. I wouldn't go over 285. I actually feel like the larger tires made it a bit more sluggish.

Thanks...I'm leaning towards the 285 rear.
It just difficult to find the right tire combo for these rims, unusual diameters....
Anyone try the Hankook Ventus V12? Looks like they're getting good reviews. Either that or just lay down some cash for the RE-11

He runs 265/295 Sessantas on his NISMO with 9" fronts and 10" rears, and likes them.

Alright, I just ordered the Hankook Ventus V12 EVO K110 tires in the following sizes:
265/35/18 and 295/30/19
I've read really good reviews on this tires so hopefully they live up to the hype. Thanks for all the help!

Quick Update:
I've had the tires on for a few days and the difference between these tires and the Nitto 555 is like night and day. First off, the they are as quiet as you'd expect from 265/295 wide tires. Secondly, these things are grippy grippy grippy. I can honestly say my car has never been as glued to the pavement.
I've run multiple tires before, Bridgestone re040, re050, Toyo T1, Kumho Ecstas, Summitomos. Michelin Pilot Sports, and Nitto 555.
The Hankooks are comparable to the Michelins and Bridgestones for sheer lateral grip. I'm taking these out to Palm Beach International Raceway this week so I'll give them a full shake-down.
Anyway, here are a couple of pics with them on:

Funny you say that. I just put on the Hankooks in 255 40 18 and 275 35 19 and I also feel that it's a tad more sluggish. I thought I was crazy for thinking it. Still happy with the tire.

Update:
Took the tires out to PBIR for a few laps on the road course. General thoughts:
- Transitional maneuvers not quite as "crisp" as potenzas but definitely not sloppy.
- Lateral grip is outstanding. According to my ipod touch, the car was pulling around 1G around the turns.
- Tires are smooth....they feel fantastic on the highway and are quiet.
Overall, these tires are worth contenders to the pricier brands. The first set of "budget" tires I'm truly pleased with.

Only had one track day on these. Car is getting old so I'm trying to take it easy. I don't think you'd regret getting these. I think I picked up mine for ~650 or 700...
