Konig stampede 18" Staggered setup your thoughs/opinions/suggestions
Hi Guys, I was looking for an inexpensive set of wheels to replace my stock wheels, by no means are these meant for racing/tracking etc, I plan to buy another set for that duty.
I came across the konig Stampede
(2) 18x9 5x114.3 et 25 in Opal
(2) 18x10 5x114.3 et 22 in Opal
the whole set of 4 is $469 on ebay....
I've had konigs on my previous cars and never had a problem with bending/cracking etc. we have some pretty bad roads up here in BC as well and have a huge pothole problem in the winter, and still didnt have any problems.
what do you guys think ? Should I buy a set?

$469? wow. thats pretty good deal.. hope they dont kill you on shipping.
i'd recommend going with a 35 series side profile for the tire, but that's just me.. i'll live with the speedo error if it means less roll

F/R stagger with the suggested tires is over 3% - no bueno for your traction control or your handling, or your VDC (if the car is so equipped). No Z on the planet ever came with a tire setup that had that much stagger, so it's from from being OEM and far from being correct

Where are you getting 3.49%?
The diff in overall circum between 255/285 is 2.97"...
Diff in circum from 225/45 to 255/40 is 0.19" .... +0.23%
Diff in circum from 245/45 to 285/40 is 0.93" .... +1.1%
The Math:
Stock: Overall Circumf:
225/45/18 Front: 81.59"
245/45/18 Rear: 83.82"
= 2.23" difference or = 2.7% stagger
Non stock suggestion: Overall Circumf:
255/40/18 Front: 81.78"
285/40/18 Rear: 84.75"
= 2.97" difference or = 3.5% stagger ( < where you got 3.49%? )
2.7% OEM to 3.5% Non-OEM = 0.8% Change in stagger, or well within recommended +/-3% range.

245/45/18 < 285/40/18 by .3 in diameter (26.7 vs 27in, slightly off)
so... your saying this will throw off vdc by going with this setup? you sure?
