Default TPMS swap

I have searched but there seems to be difference answers, so i hope someone here can help me out.

So I have Rota Torques and I want to put my TPMS from my stock 08 rims into my Torques. Will the TPMS be compatible with the Torques and will I need to reprogram my TPMS? Some say since these are my original TPMS I wont need to reprogram them but I am not sure.

Thank you
-James

No reprogramming is necessary. Just move them from old wheels to new.

Reprogramming is only necessary if you get sensors from another car. Yours are already recognized by your cars computer.

James - the stock (original) TPMS can be installed with no reprogramming. You will need to have the tires dis-mounted and re-mounted.

Looking at a picture of the Torques - it looks like they might mount the same as they do on the OEM wheels. As long as the valve stem hole goes in at an angle, you're probably good. The sensor/stem is angled so that it can be positioned parallel to the surface of the barrel. You'll see when they dismount the tires from the old wheels how they should be positioned.

If the valve stem hole is 90º to the barrel of the wheel, then they don't usually fit because the sensor will stick up too much.

I've got Rota SVN's and had no problem swapping from the stock rim to the SVN. Just remember to install each TPMS sensor back in its original position, i.e., sensor from front left stock rim should go on the NEW front left, sensor from stock rear right goes to NEW rear right, .............

Since the OP has an '08, I'm not sure that it matters which sensor is on which wheel. Didn't they get rid of the individual tire pressure display in '07?

Yes, for 2007+ cars you don't have to worry about which sensor goes where. There is no readout anymore so position no longer matters.
