Default Question about the CUB Programmable Universal Replacement tool....

I wanna know if anyone has used this tool to reprogram the 03 Z's replacement TPMS sensor.I am at an understanding that only for the damn 03's you HAVE to use the Consult 2,but i really do not want to take my car to the dealer if i have my own shop.....

Scan tools can be used to activate the sensors, reset them, etc.

Consult 2 is what communicates with the ECU and other systems to make it recognize the sensors. The dealer will use Consult 2 hooked up to your car along with a scan tool to operate the sensors. It's required for all model years, not just the 2003.

04 and beyond will actually be able to reset with certain other scan tools and not just the consult 2.

For some odd reason the 03 z's have to be reset using the consult.

That doesn't make sense since all the TPMS units are the same.

Well here is the verdict. I ordered the CUB yesterday mid afternoon and it was delivered mid morning today. I used it to scan the new sensor i put in and it found it no problems. I then used the rigger gun to initiate the learning process and remove the tps light then while the light was flashing on the dash i entered the program mode on the cub and it worked and my sensor that has been dormant for a few months is now showing up on the dash with the correct psi.
