^^ For sure tires can be the most significant difference you experience with your car.

Suspension and wheels can make a difference, but it’s the tires that you really get a completely different drive.

Question: What tires (brand and size) did you mount?

^^ Michelin is the best. Every time I tried a cheaper tire, I regretted not getting the Michelin.

I like them for just about every application…Best for my off-road 4WD (Michelin M/S) since they run quietly on the expressway but perform exceptionally well off-road.

Michelin also makes exceptional summer performance tires that fit my Z, great winter performance tires and “pure” snow tires for a sports car.

I’ve never met a Michelin that I didn’t like.

I have the Riken raptors on my rear, 245/45ZR18's and they are great! Next time I need a full set I would like to try the nitto 555's though. Glad you're happy with them!

Try a new or barely-used Toyo R888. I am very impressed at how well they hold traction in my high-HP toy as well. Maybe not first gear, but it goes straight in second, and sticks in third. Better than a BFG DR, in my experience.

The nitto 555r's are best bang for the buck for a radial. There better then any street tire, and last a long time then other radials, if you decided to DD it. They are not the best when it comes to traction. If you compare a micky thompson to a 555r it is a huge difference.

Again the MT's wont last as long, but are far better.

That's a big tire-compared to some of the [low profile] tires the other people are talking about, I would hope that your ride is better- with 18"s, that tire must barely fit in the well-like to see a pic of the rears- I got 20" Falken 255/30-at the time, I didn't know much about any of the import tires, but I read that they were ok-I hope that nitto makes those 555's in my size, and that they'll be much better than what i got now. BTW-is it imposible to find a stock, black shift ****-looked through all of the threads w/no luck-

That doesn't sound silly at all-that's the sign of big trouble!...like your tires are worn unevenly(really bad). Or you could have had tire separation(when the steel belts inside the tire come apart) Thoses things can cause a blowout if there isn't any tread left on the worn part-at the very least, it could start shaking+make u lose focus=accident.
