Default Anyone chrome the factory wheels?

I did a search but didn't find anyone who did. I've got an '07 enthusiast, and I'd like to show it some love by chroming the factory wheels, and maybe the door handles. I think it would look nice on the SMB setup. Where would I go to get this kinda work done?

Chrome doorhandles FTL...........

Chroming your factory wheels will weaken their structure significantly...do a search and you will find quite a few people who had their wheels chromed only to have them crack later.

Your chances of this happening are somewhat slim, but why even take the risk?

I seen someone on the expressway a couple of weeks ago in an old Chevy Beretta that was rattle-canned chrome, funniest thing ever.
But seriously.. no. Chrome is the Devil.

there was a TSB for dealer chromed wheels, they were shattering while driving and causing wrecks. one guy in CA's wheels cracked and fell apart while driving, and the loose tire bounced over the median and hit a motorcycle law enforcement officer, injuring him. this was early on, 03-04 i believe, but the structural weakening will probably be the same

The finish on these wheels just doesn't hold. I've had them redone in the original finish by a place called the "wheel Dr.", and it still doesn't hold. I hate to have it drive it when it doesn't look 100%. It's just a pride thing which I'm sure you all understand. Is there anyone who's refinished them, and had it stay? I can't be the first one with this problem.

The page about the investigation into the wheels is certainly a possiblity. Thanks for bringing that one up.

I have to do something to these wheels. They just look like ****, and I don't want to run volks like every other Z owner.
