Honestly, that's yet to be seen. The registration max is 36 people and it's only 1/2 of the full course. There are a lot of events up here (NorCal) that we go to that are $109 for a full day at the 3.2 mile course called Thunderhill Raceway. This event, so it seems, is more of a show-with-some-go. The full track of Buttonwillow absolutely rocks though.

I actually want to downsize to some 18's now for the better tire options... so I'll be in the market 3 years from now when I see my Z again after I move lol....

I think I'm going with the Nitto NT05's:

I'm also considering these, mostly because I would be able to put some 255's up front with 275's in the rear to get rid of some of my Z's understeer.

I had a set of 18" Invos, and I wasn't that impressed. They wore fairly quickly, and the grip just wasn't that impressive.

I swapped them for the Dunlop Direzza Star Specs, and the difference was immense. As far as I recall, they were about the same price, but that may have changed.

Also look into the Toyo R1R's. I know some people that swear by them.

I'm not that familiar with the Nitto NT05's, but as far as I know, they'd be much better than the Invo's.

These are going on my Enkeis, I don't have stock wheels any more. These are the only tires aside from Toyo R888s that will fit, and R888s are out of budget this time around. So I think I'll go with the NT05s.

Wheels are 19x8.5, 19x9.5 so I'm limited on options.

Anyone know howcome Nitto has the NT05s listed under competition tires with the rest of their R comp tires, and the street section as well, but in different sizes? Are these tires the same, aside from sizes? Is the tire compound and design the same?

^dude.. you can't go wrong with 17's or 18's... get my nismo's lulz... lots of rubber choices for cheaper... 19 is not that practical at the track..

I thought about it for a second, but even with your nismo's I'll have to buy rubber anyhow since you've got street tires on them. I'm going to be on the lookout for some 18" red time attacked TE37's 6 months or so from now.

One is an R Comp, and the other isn't. So yes, different compounds, and different sizes.

Thanks, good to know. Well I'm hoping that it will be much stickier none the less basing off the UTQG rating and the fact that Falken 452's tread design looks a lot less beefy by comparison of how beefy the NT05's contact patch is.
