Should I stay With Bridgestone potenza
Hi Guys,
I just bought my 2008 350z touring about a month ago. I live in IL and bought the car in MO. A few days after I bought the car the tire light came on. The front driver side tire though kept losing air. I thought it was the valve but when I took it in to NTB the inner corner of the tire was totally worn. The guy said the two front tires need to be replaced and the back should be too even though he said the back has 65% tread left. My question is should I replace all 4, or could I just replace the front. If I do replace all 4 are there better tires than the potenza. Thanks

Same problem here. I just checked my tires this morning and my 2 front are gone. Both from the inner side. Except the passenger side is more fcuked then the other. The tire pressure was constantly on after several times of filling up. I have about 30% left on the rears and will replace them also. I really want to stick with these Potenza, but they're very pricey. Thinking about getting the BFG G force KDW.
1. yes there is always a better tire 2. search 3. make sure your alignment and stuff is correct. 4. Sense you live in chicago i would invest in a sec. pair of rim and tires for the winter if it is a DD all year long. And last but not least Search before asking question that can easily be answered by a search.
I just replaced my rear tires with TOYOs, and I love them. If I needed fronts I would have done all for with this brand. Look at the tread wear ratings when looking at tires. The higher the number the longer the wear. Toyos rate 220, Bridgestone Protenza rate 180.

Anyway, as others have said:
1) Get your alignment checked as soon as you get new tires on the car.
2) Just replace the front for now, you can replace the rear later.
3) The idea of a used set of tires is great if you want to save some money.
4) I would look seriously at the Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 tires. In your size of 225/45-18, they are only $130 each from Tirerack.
Finally, the advice of getting an extra set of inexpensive stock wheels and putting a set of winter tires on it is a good one if you need to DD the car year round.
the g forces are good and so are the toto t1r's. IMO, if u don't need great tires don't spend too much $ on tires. I just street drive my z and have spent 1,200 on toyo t1r's and now I have kumho ecstas for like 800 and there is no significant difference for my driving purposes. But I would ditch the potenzas just bc they make a lot of noise.
Wear problem isn't the tires, its your alignment. Go to Firestone and get the lifetime alignment because Zs go out of alignment frequently (eg toe out of spec on my Nismo after 4k when it killed my rear tires). +1 for the Hankook v12 street and track based on price and performance. Lots of posts on tires here though. GL!
O, well he didnt state having the track editions v2 on this Z. I know on the stock 07 rims they were the ones he name and i thought when i looked them up it was a 300 rating. I could be wrong but hmm. I got the track edition rims a couple months ago and i honestly think they should of came stock

everyone seems to eventually try the kdw because of price, availability, and treadwear rating, but they are loud. so are the kumho spt. i love my michelin ps2's but they wear out way too fast for the price. +1 for the toyo t1s, but gonna try the hankooks next
if you are looking for a good set of daily driver tires to just put miles on, check out the general exclaim UHPs. Great looking tire with a nice amount of tread. I'm getting ready to put a new set of rears on, but the fronts are still looking good.
If you like turns, you will hate those tires.
