600 Grit. I'm considering another pass:

800 Next!

What are you actually using? What paper and you using a sandpaper brick?

oh and don't use the bathtub, you will most likely end up staining it, or leaving streak marks from the metal rim and then you'll have to clean that as well. haha

3m wet/dry paper which can be bought at Home Depot or auto parts stores and no sanding brick or sponge- freehand is best.

800 Grit with 2 teaser shots at the end:

I got a little excited after I took the pics above because the inner barrels look better than the outside lips now with no red tripoli rouge or polishing... I hit the middle of the barrel with a littlw Blue Magic Polish to check for imperfections before moving to 1000 grit:

The look great right now, but once I hit them with the 1000 grit (possibly 2000 as well) tomorrow, then use a coarse red Tripoli jewelers rouge followed by Mothers Polish and ****ton of buffing, it will be a mirror finish...

1000 grit next!

Thanks Haeshik- it is a LOT of elbow grease, but the excitement you get when you get to the finner sandpaper and test it out makes it all worth it. Actually, the hardest part is taking 320 grit sand paper to $4000 wheels.

100 Grit. I am so tempted to start hitting the inner hub with rouge, but the smartest way is to do the outer lip first being that it should not take to long... They are really look good right now and my crappy camera will not do them justice.

Photobucket is about to pwn my bandwidth so I will be attaching pics now...

Heavy duty wax...

100 grit on the outer lip. Not satisfied and I think I will go with 2000 Grit on the outer lips being that they are in fair shape. I also plan to repair a small patch of curb rash on the other front wheel when I get to it... I can't wait anymore. Rouging the inner hub now...

One teaser before 2000 Grit on the outer lip, rouge, and Mothers tommorow.

Already started initial cleaning/tar removal on the next wheel.

Yes it's a LOT of work, but well worth it as you can see. This took me about 4-5 days of a couple hours a night to do. LOL, my neigbor came out asking me how much I would charge! I was like "Not enough money in the world, bro."

Then again, it is a nice skill to have in your back pocket if times ever get tough.
