You can fit anything from 225 to 275 wide.

The answer is a lot more complex than the minimal information you've provided. Does your car have TCS or VDC? If so, then you need to keep a staggered setup, i.e. fronts around 25.9" OD and rears around 26.7" OD.

Make sure you order the rest of the wheel when you order the rims.
You have months to search on this topic, read all you can starting here once you set a budget: https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-and-tires-60/

I autox 285/30/18s on 18x9 wheels - no problem! (But agreed that for everyday use, a 9" wheel should have a 275 tire max).

Just fine, but it handles better with a 255/40 up front. Either the 245 or 255 up front will work fine.

Not to threadjack but...

What tire are you running? I've been going through he!! trying to get 285/30/18 V710 in an Advan RS 18x9. RT Tuning couldn't get it on, another local tire shop couldn't get it on, and a third tire place that deals with more crazy suv and car fitments couldn't get it to seal either. They simply can't get the sidewall and bead to set. They blasted it with 90+psi and tried using tire bands but still couldn't get them to hold air! Everytime they lift one side of the sidewall in place, about 180 degrees away on the other side, the sidewall always slips back down.
I gotta make a local thread about this... I can't find anyone that made it fit yet.

A 285 on a 9" is about the easiest for large autox sizes - there are guys that run 285s on 7.5s! My shop had no problem with my 285 V710s on the 9" SSR Comps. I'd do as you said, and post up in your local subforum.

I've seen 285/35 that were tough to mount so I can imagine 285/30 being even worse. Tell the shop to let them sit out in the sun for half a day and get real warm before trying to mount them.
