Default TPMS "--" Question PLEASE Advise

My front driver side tire shows "--" on the screen inside the vehicle. When I check the pressure manually its at 35 cpsi just like its supposed to be. Also the (!) symbol does not come on ever due to the "--". Does this mean that my TMPS sensor is shot or does it just need to be reset?

I called Bob Bell Nissan and they stated that a Reset/Reregistering would start at $90 and go up from there. If the sensor is shot it would start at $150 and go up from there for installation etc.

Walmart has a TMPS "Re-learn" for $20

Please advise, I did a search and have not found the relevant information specific to my situation.

Well.. Its not reading. My guess would be that the battery in the sensor is dead. That can happen. You can buy a full set of 4 used ones on this forum for less than $150.

Honestly, if the light on your dash isn't on and its not beeping at you... I would just leave it alone.

I dont think the walmart relearn will help - Its unlikely the car just "forgot" that sensor. Something died.

PS: I have a extra set if you need to buy some, send me a PM

You have a 2003 model - chances are very good the battery has died or the sensor itself died. Buy a used one from somebody here, get it installed then take it to dealer to get it re-programmed to the car.

will the walmart relearn work for an entire set of TPMS that's unidentified to your car or would you have to take the vehicle to the dealership for that?

Take it to discount tire. I'm sure they can look at it for free.

Take it to a TRUSTED tire installer.. I've heard too many stories of these shops butchering wheels while removing/installing tires.. it has happened to me too.

and/or - take the advice that others have posted.

Default Recommended Tire Place in MD?

I saw this on another post and did some research, it looks like they dont have any locations in MD. Sucks, because I heard they are very helpful with things like this.

Any places you can refer in MD??

How much would just 1 of these sensors cost me here?

I need an OEM SS Front Bumper and CF Hood before I deal with the TPMS.

In the marketplace, you ought to be able to find one in the $25-$50 range. Set of four usually goes for around $150
