Potenza RE-11? Should I get them?
I've seached abit but I'm only able to use my phone so I figured I'd just ask . I'm looking for some sticky new tires buthave been out of the loop for a few years and was wondering what's out there these days, I've been thinking about the Potenza RE-11 and was wondering if they were any better than the old potenzas that came on the 2003 model. I'm open to othe brands last time I had bfgoodwrench g-force something but for the last year the car has been on snow tires. Any thoughts or advice will be apreaciated thanks in advace.

They're are much better than the OEM tires that came on my '07 (RE050A) and I would also say they are much better than the OEM RE040's that were on my '03. They are very confidence inspiring and stick like glue in both a straight line and through corners, sweepers, etc. They are definitely the best tires I've had on any of my cars by far.

I'm running some Potenza RE-01R's and those things are like super glue on the track. HUGE difference in traction over the stock set.
But they won't be the best idea for snow/heavy rain

You have to determine what YOU want out of a tire before anyone can give you a recommendation.
Willing to sacrifice noise/ride/wet grip/longevity for pure dry grip?
Need something that does as well in the wet as the dry?
Road noise or comfort the most important?
Etc
Come up with what you need out of the tire and then everyone can point you in the right direction.

exactly. Can you tell us how the tire will be used? Is it dedicated completely to track use? Do you want wet handling? Another good suggestion might be the R888. It doesnt have terrible wet handling. Don't get me wrong I love the Potenza line....i myself run RE050A's (but I don't track the car obviously)...just wanted you to think of other brands. Good luck!

The tire will never see the snow and will some times see the rain but mostly the dry only thing with wet I'm worried about is maybe encoutering a puddel out of nowhere in mid corner. My driving stlye is veryvery spirited. I plan on doing some auto cross with it but I don't want to get an R compound tire, road noise and tread life are equaly a second priority mostly just grip and stability.

Then it sounds like any of the top tier "ST" class Auto-X tires would be good for you.
The Toyo R1R and Dunlop Direzza Star Spec I think have shown to be best in the wet, of that crop of tires.
The Advan AD08, Kumho XS, Hankook RS-3 would be the others, although I don't know if they are available in the sizes you need.

Also, I had a set of Goodyear Eagle GT's on before this. There was slightly more road noise, but not deafeningly such. They also have OUTSTANDING wet weather traction and better tread life all the while maintain the grip and stability I needed for track days. In fact, I'm probably going to put these back on my car after the RE-01R's have been worn out.
