Default $3000 for stock wheels?!?!

Well, had my laugh for the day. Shopping around for some Rays v1- ended up getting an email from "quality" autoparts DOT com with a number to call- did so and talked to some bumbler for almost 15 minutes, who actually had the cojones to ask me how much I "wanted to spend" and if "I knew how much these normally were." I played the rube and allowed him to go through his song and dance. He fired the first shot over my bow to inform me that "the dealership" wanted 1500 per wheel, new. Uh huh, go on. And he did, offering to sell me the fronts at 600 + shipping a piece, and the rears at 900 + ship a piece. Used. Wow, what a deal. Thanks, bye.

Anybody else ever dealt with these clowns? I'd say give them a wide berth.

bearing in mind that rays OEM wheels will be more expensive then a lot of folks are comfortable paying for stock style wheels... what a joke.

you are probably best off finding some in the wheel/tire for sale area.

Yeah, the under 2k range is what I'm looking at, hoping to pick up some rays v1 (obviously) or enkei rpf1- performance over bling. I'm not picky, I just want to get rid of these 26 pounders. I'd buy a set of scuffed-to-hell wheels if they weigh 18. (seriously, you hear anything, tell, ha!)

Really, I just found it absurd that this guy was trying to tell me that it would cost over $6000 for a brand new set of stock rays v1, and that he was really trying to cut me a deal by offering me a price of 3k for some used junkyard v1's. Insane. There are a million and one deals for wheels & tires together for under that. Hell, ebay has perfect used v1 rays with tires for under 2k.

I looked at new LMGT4's and was given a price 3400, but these were also 9.5 and 10.5 nineteens. Nice but I think I'll continue to look for a good set of used ones.

Again, I'm sure there are plenty of aftermarket wheels that are way more expensive and are under 20 pounds, but for me, Rays v1 and Enkei RPF1s are the only things with my weight and budget requirements. I can get a set of of the Enkei for like 1200 brand new- 18 and 18.5s. To be honest, I'd rather have the Rays because they're stock wheels, which I can probably find for about the same as the RPF1s, used, and I'd like to draw as little attention myself as possible.

Honestly, I didn't mean to drag this out, I just wanted to share the experience of a con job with this company.
