Default I have Tires, need rims.

Hey,

Man, I spent hours going through the tire section. Anyway, I recently needed tires for my 2005 350 roadster. Still had the originals on.

I ended up buying Yokahama's 235/45/18 in the front and 255/45/18 in the back.

Now, I'm thinking of getting some rims. I'm not entirely sure what size will fit with my new tires.

From what I found, I think 18x9 +31 in the front, and 18x10.5 +35 in the back???

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Those sizes and offsets are good for the wheels, though some may consider them too conservative, it will look nice for a DD ZR. You'll want to end up with larger (width) tires with a lower aspect ratio (45 --> 40), as those are some pretty tall tires (taller than stock in each location)! With those wheels, you could run a 255/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear, or 255/40 and 295/35 combo.

You will need some new tires, and those wheels will look good on a DD, but you may want something with a lower offset.

I heard of shopping for tires to fit wheels. Shopping for wheels to fit tires? Not sure about this.

Hey Guys,

Yeah, I know... shopping for rims after tires is completely *** backwards. I never intended on getting rims, but for some reason now I want them.

As for the rubber I have, they are stock height "45". The only thing I changed is I went one size wider - 235 in the front instead of 225 and 255 in the back instead of 245.

Not looking for anything too drastic. Just a little wider than stock with a deeper dish (offset)

You want to put a 255 mm tire on a 10.5 wheel? Why do you think this is a good idea?

I don't really know if it's a good idea. That's why I'm asking.

Simple enough.... I own a pair of 235/45/18's and a pair of 255/45/18's. What size rims do I have to look for to fit these tires?

I would not go more than a 9.5 on a 255 tire

section width of a 255 is only 10.03"

Thanks for the straight forward answer. So I shouldn't go any larger than 8.5 in the front because the tires are only 9.3"?

^ yes a 235 has a section width of 9.25". A staggered setup of 8.5 and 9.5 would work nicely for you. Look for something with an offset between +20 and +30. Whatever you do don't go higher than 30. It will look extremely shallow if you do.
