Default Why?

I've never understood why some people have their rims sticking out further from their tires. It's like the opposite of run flats. You know where they have more rubber on the edges so in case you run outta air, you run on the flat tire and not the rim. Or so when you do accidentally curb, you scuff the tire, not the rim. Why would you do it the complete opposite?

You need to pickup an issue or do some research, this is a trend that has been in the car world for some time and will be here to stay.

It's not my style but I can appreciate it when it's done correctly.

It's for people that gotta be hella stretched y0 and avoid functionality wherever possible. I think it looks stupid, but to be fair, even with some extra rubber if you hit the curb your wheel is inevitably going to get rashed up. After all, it's just air inside that tire. Force it against the curb and it's going to deform enough to allow the curb to reach the metal.

I'm not for the stretched or the stuffed look. Tires that look like they fit correctly FTW

lawd

I've always liked the look of stretched/flush cars. Never thought I'd do it myself, but I did. I used to have 245/35 and 275/35.....went to 215/35 and 245/35 about 2-3 weeks ago. Why? Because 245/35 and 275/35 is such a generic setup. I either wanted to have really meaty tires or tires with a good stretch. And I like stretched tires more than really fat tires...The comments people have said have been fawking hilarious. It's amazing to me how close-minded some people are. I personally love the hate though...every time somebody hates I feel more happy that I did it!!

Push the limits of what?? safety??

If you trailer your beauty queen to car shows, sure have at it....

but if you are driving on the road hitting pot holes and uneven pavement (ya know, typical roads all over) then GTFO.......how dare you buy crappy tires that weren't designed for that and drive next to me and my family.....

Now this crap has been beaten to death.........that being said.....new threads on this is quite rediculous....refer your questions and research to the following link or do more searching:
