Default decision made!! now need some input.

OK. as posted in the other forum. I will be getting a bonus check of a little over 800 dollars net on sept 1st. I have decided on getting the following mods to fix my cars weak stance and tucked wheels:

I already have two 245 tires for the front of my stock track rims. So unfortunately the backs have to have the same sidewall height. Which will be a wee tall, but I still think it will look good. I dont have any crazy HP mods, just some bolt ons. So something like 275 or 295 tires are overkill, and will require buying new rims which I dont want to do. Call me crazy I like the stock 03 tracks. These are the tires which I already have which will go on the front:

Falken FK 452

Now for the rear, since I have only a 8.5 rear rim, and like I said, I dont track my car nor do I have crazy amounts of HP. 255's should do just fine.
I was thinking about getting two of these:
either the same tire above except in a 255 or...

Two of these Nitto Invos

which I want simply because the tread pattern looks nifty.

Right now Im leaning toward the Invos. ******336.00

secondly, I want to get some spacers, so I was thinking about getting 20mm up front, and 25mm rears of these:

How do you think those sizes will work out? *****260.00

Thirdly, some springs, I was thinking a set of these:

I am open to spring suggestions. Coilovers are too expensive and out of my price range. *************230.00*****

Fourthly, I am going to cut my fenders, since I am fairly skilled with the angle grinder, instead of rolling them. ********free

Fifthly, I am going to paint the OEM wheels black. Im going to use a two part clear coat so the finish should be just as sturdy, if not more so, then the stocks. *******free! I have all paint supplies.

grand total plus shipping will be: 826.00 for those items. Which Im cool with. As long as we are around 800 I'm good to go.

keep in mind that after I spend this, I cant get anything else for a very, very, very, very long time.

suggestions, comments, please.

Nah, not scraping pennies at this point. Times are better these days and I could save the cash, but I already have a fair amout in savings. I may just get the tires later and spring for the spacers and errr springs.

I like older year track wheels. Don't paint them black please. They look great without. I say pass on tires. I would go 25+ spacers for front and rear

you will need a rear camber kit for sure. i'm on eibach sportlines and it is low. you might need a front camber kit as well. i have a 19x9.5 +12 front and it's at -2.0 camber which is not back to oe specs. are you installing the springs yourself?? don't forget to add cost of an ailgnment because you will need one after the spring install.

+ juan on paint and spacers. I will trade you my 03 track stockers painted black. Being your going to paint them anyway they need a recoat. I really want the silver look again. Let me know.

I have the Eibachs and the drop is nice.

Also is using different tread patterns front to back a bad thing? Might want to check that out.

Sounds like it should be a nice looking setup without breaking the bank.

open ended lugs would be a nice addition to your setup especially if you want to upgrade to extended studs. also i suggest going with 25mm spacers for a nice poke, and get an average set of camber arms and you should be good for your stanced look.

Not that is really matters, but why did you decide to mix tires and not go with the Falken's all around?

Springs and spacers only if I were you. You''ll still have to pay for alignment. Assuming you will install the springs yourself, I believe that will leave you with just under $200.

Dude that's a fantastic idea! I will lurk around the marketplace here to see if I can find some of this stuff too. How good of an idea is getting used spacer Btw? No big deal? PM me when you have the s-techs available.
To clarify the tire thing. AFAIK the tread pattern only matters side to side and not front to back. I wanted those nittos instead of the Falkens simply because I like the tread. The falkens in the size I mentioned are the exact tire I have on the rears now, and I love them, just looking for something different.

So the consensus is as follows:

Hold off on tires
25mm spacers front and back
Run some negative camber. (need to price those)
Don't paint the rims

Spring wise, will the sportlines be too low? The roads around here suck.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't dropping the car itself result in a little negative camber? Suspension flexes concentrically and not linearly right?

Yeah you'll get negative camber because of the drop. When you get wheel alignment afterwards, you can get toe and caster adjusted except camber, unless you purchase camber kits. If you're paying for installation and buying new parts, I don't think $800 will be enough. Post pics when you're done.

I think I can install myself. Between me and my buddy we have plenty of tools to do it with. He has a spring compressor. The only thing I can't do is alignment.

One other thing...and I don't know if this will be considered "ghetto"....can I put my stock closed ended lug nuts on the drill press and make them open?

I think I will put the spacers on first and leave stock suspension to see how much, if any, negative camber I will have to run. I'd like to avoid getting camber arms if possible, those are expensive.

if you are not lowered, you will not need to run negative camber because you are not going to rub. the sr48 open ends are nice. get them on ebay..i just bought my set for less than $80 shipped. if you don't get tires and will be installing everything yourself, i think you should be able to get springs, rear camber kit, spacers, lugs, and ailgnment.
