I have no problem with off-brand tires such as Federal, Achilles and Fullrun. These tires are made buy major manufactures (such as Goodyear) difference being that the manufacture spends little or no money on promotion and marketing. Unfortunately, you will seldom find independent test results.

*** Make sure you get a tire with an appropriate speed rating.

Honestly I drive with it wet and raining outside like I do when its dry. The tread on them are really soft so it sticks to the ground in any season.

Side walls are too soft for my liking but overall decent tire.

I've heard the Federal 595 RS-R is a decent street/track tire for the price. Haven't tried them but I definitely would.

By all accounts the 595RSR is a very capable track tire (for a street tire).....don't know much about the non RSR's though.
