Post Tire Rotation

When I first bought my Z I was told by the dealer that you do not rotate the tires. I took it in for a 15,000 mile service and they said that they needed to rotate the tires. They said they would have to dismount them and change sides. Was going to be quite pricey. Does anyone know if I should rotate the tires?

I am not a mechanic but I am quite sure, wait I am certain you CANNOT do that. You have to actually take the tire off the rim to do that. You cannot just swap tires from left to right?

Am I right folks?

zand02max is correct, the tires are directional, if you just swap the wheels with dismounting, tire performance will suffer.

take your z back to the dealer and tell them that there is a tsb on the tires for making noise while braking. They will dismount and remount the tires for free or they should.

The tires are NOT rotated unless they are NON DIRECTIONAL tires. You have Directional tires if you have your stock wheels and tires.

They do what is called a Tire Swap. They take off the actual tire from the rim and re-mount it on the other side. So now the inside of the tire is now on the out side and vice versa.

Drop by Performance Nissan, We will take care of you.

Thank you all. I think I will take cuban350Z's advise and if that doesn't work I will go to performance Nissan.
Where is Performance Nissan located? I am north of LA in Simi valley.

Thanks again for the help. I read everything you guys post and I learn a lot.
