I have my winter wheels on my car right now, but when I purchased my car, there were aftermarket wheels on it already. The fronts are 18x8 and the rears are 18x9, and after looking at how wide other people's tires are I feel like these may not be wide enough. The offsets look fine and everything to me but I feel like I may not get as much traction from a dig with 9 inch wide rear tires. Anyone have any imput on this? Or am I just paranoid
ok - 18x9 is your wheel size..not tire size.. I have 18x9.5 all around on my car...however I run 17x9 when I track the car. Really just depends on your tires size. you can still put 275s on a 9 inch rim....just a thought. Just go wider on your next set and you will be good.
Wheels are fine..
Wheels are fine..
you realize your car has maybe 230 hp right? and that it's ok if it spins from a dig. because if your car hooks in every gear including first from a launch it will have alot of un-needed rolling resistance and unsprung weight from having to wide of tires.

Yeah that makes sense to me I just never really thought too much about it. When I got my car it already had aftermarket wheels so I went ahead and researched everything else about the car. Just kind of realized I didn't know much about wheels until this morning so I figured I'd ask. Thanks for helping clear that up though

This is the car when I first got it. Right now I have stockers on because of the snow but I've made some changes since then (Nismo v2 side skirts, veilside v1 cf front lip, HKS exhaust, motordyne spacer, pop charger, tinted windows, pioneer head unit, magellan in dash gps, momo shift ****, etc...) so I'm off to a decent start since I've had the car for about 6 months. I have to say I wouldn't have picked these wheels originally but they'll have to do for now. I'd like to drop it a little to fill in that gap though

Yea I'm thinking about an inch so I don't have to get a camber kit

I mean zo6's have well over twice the hp and tq and only run 325's. (yes I know that's huge) just in comparison a z in my opinion doesn't need a 285

Yeah sorry if I came off as a dick but I've talked to a couple people who have 350z's around were I live and they think that they have 350hp and If you dump the clutch in first gear and it spins you need wider tires.
