i got the 19" 370z sport rims and i wanna upgrade my rear tires to 295s for the spring. i currently have 275s as well as 20mm spacers in the back. will i be able to put on the 295s without any rubbing or other issues? what exact tire would i get 295/??/19

295/30-19 would be the proper rear tire, and a 265 or 275/30-19 would be the proper front to run.

Listen to terrasmak, you want 265 in the front.

I tried 245/295 and was not pleased at all- lots of understeer. Terrasmak actually warned me on here before I tried it and I ignored. Don't be a hard head like I was, he knows what he's talking about.

I'm running a 245/285 setup and that is 100% as far as I would take staggering front to rear if you don't want a sub-par driving experience (and borderline dangerous on fast interstate loops).

is there a noticeable difference between the 245/275 setup and the 245/285 setup? i definitely want the wider tire but at the same time i want to do it right. if everything will be fine with the 285 im gunna go with that but please give me some insight on what would be best. thanks

if you want a 285/35 rear, just run a 255/35 front.

ya but i got a flat on one of my rear tires now so i have to replace them anyways. i got 245s in the front that got a good amount of tread left and i dont wanna buy new fronts if its not necessary.

Terrasmak will know better than me, but i would ask -

What's more important to you:

Spend more money for a safe, good driving setup - 265/295
Spend less money and have a dangerous, poor steering experience - 245/295
Spend less money and stay safe - 245/275 or 245/285

That's from my own personal experience with the same tire sizes. But like I said earlier, I had to learn the hard way by not listening to advice when I was in the exact same situation as you (had good 245's already paid for on the front & just wanted to buy new rears).

If you drive like grandma on any types of curves, never go fast, never drive your car in rain or bad weather, and don't mind that your car doesn't "obey" when you turn the steering wheel, you might be satisfied.

If you wanna go fast and enjoy it, pony up the benji's and buy what you need - 265/295.

Sorry, I didn't see your quote about the 245/275 vs 245/285.

Like Terrasmak mentioned, the 245/275 and 255/285 are the best combination. So 245/275 would be your best choice if you're concerned about performance. Terrasmak is always going to recommend "the best" solution.

I run 245/285 because I'm worried about 60% form and 40% function. I lose a little performance compared to running a 275 rear, but I love the way the 285 looks from behind (her thighs match her big butt).

I'm happy with my 245/285, and considering the fact that I chose some reasonably light weight 19 wheels instead of a super light 17 or 18 wheel, it's easy to see that I'm budget minded, want it to look good, and still want it to be fun. If you have the same mindset, go with the 245/285. You will enjoy it, I do.
