After 2 years of driving with my aftermarket rims my low pressure tire light suddenly came on. I decided I wanted the convenience of the TPMS since I had a few times where I had a slow leak and the TPMS would have been very useful.
The rims I have do not fit factory TPMS. Doing some research I know you can band the tpms around the rims but I prefer not to do that. Since my car is an 03 and I figured the life of the TPMS is around 7years I might as well buy new ones.
Doing some searching I found these aftermarket TPMS that replaces the factory TPMS. They are made my ORO-TEK. The interesting thing about these are that they are adjustable so they can fit aftermarket rims. Has anyone heard or have experience with these? I tried to search but my search skills failed.

Interesting find. This should work with hard to fit wheels.

If no one else has these I may just bite the bullet and test them out.
They are cheaper then the the factory TPMS also.

 

For $55 I bought new ones from http://www.alltiresupply.com They are the OEM Schraeder-Bridgeport sensors that Nissan uses. I saw those Oro-Tek sensors but didn't see taking a chance on them when for $5 more I could get what came from the factory.

 

The OEM TPMS does not fit my rim due to the angle of the value. It makes the TPMS stick too high up. I would go for OEM if they fit but the ones I posted can be angled. My only concern is if it will still fit with the ability to be angled.

 

If i put these on my wheels, would i have to take them to Nissan and get them "recalibrated"?

Any new Tpms will have to be registered to the car.
Just a quick update, decided to go Discount tire and they where able to do it all. TPMS/Install/register.

They banded the tpms to the rim. Figured if there was ever any issue I can always take it back to them since it was all done in one spot.
