Default wheel sizing

i currently have stock 17s and i'm going to be getting 18x8.5 (245/40/18) front and 18x10 (275/35/18) and was wondering what the pros and cons are to upgrading to a bigger tire/rim size? i just want to know if it is greatly going to reduce my gas milage and/or going to affect my steering. also will they wear out much quicker than stock? thanks

275/40-18 is the proper rear tire to buy. You may get 1 MPG worse, i didn't even notice on mine, handling is potentially better, wear depends on the tires you buy.
