oxidation on volks ! help !
I was out of town for a few days and when I came back I found a puddle of rust on just one wheel. I was able to wipe away the rust but now there is a hazy oxidation area left in the shape of the puddle. I've owned these wheels for two years and have never had any problems till now. Everytime it rains and water collects in that one exact area on just that one wheel it rusts over. I've used polishing compounds, wheel cleaner, etc all by hand but no luck. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks !
i hope its not the clear..cant imagine i thought the clear coat is very hard to damage...i havent used a buffer yet just because i dont have one...guess ill have to buy one
There is a sticky in the wheel area.
What I was always told and it seems to work, treat the wheel exactly like you treat the paint on your car. I would start with car wash, move onto clay bar.... then cleaner wax if it is not gone then a nice wax to finish it off.
Everytime I wash my car I wash my wheels the same way...

Don't let those winnings become a failing (egh... it sounded funnier in my head lol)

I had to end up wetsanding my lip on 1 wheel with a 800, 1000, 1200, 1500, and finally 2000 grit to get the same thing out. It's pretty tedious, but removed the rusty spot. Basically I took off the clear and just had to make sure it was polished and waxed every 2 weeks!
^ this is how i dealt with my meisters, however this requires a ton of work to
get started. in retrospect it should be done w the wheels fully dissassembled to
make the removal consistent.

ehhh deff dont want to entertain the idea of sanding...probably hit it with a buffer first if not ill just have to suck it up...
if anyone knows of some kind of compound that will help remove this feel free to share
