URGENT! VDC almost made me crash!

The car might have been aligned for the past setup? Maybe you need re-alignment.... ? Can this be the cause for the VDC to kick off?

VDC doesn't care about alignment, only grip. However, alignment does affect grip.
His alignment would have to be really far off in order for it to be the only issue here. The new tires were the biggest problem.
