Default 19" Motegi DPKs with a 40 offset?

Found a guy on craigslist selling an almost mint condition set of Motegi PPk, 19x8 or $200. From what i can find about these online(not much)it seems they are a 40 offset Can anyone let me know if tha offset will work and if so, what will the wheels look like sunken in? or pushed out? Anyway I can make these work and sit flush with the fender? He wants me to pick em up tomorrow so any help is appreciated!

Those are for a FWD vehicle not a RWD, they will be so sunk that you will have clearance issues.

Read this thread as well for clarification:

Deeply sunk, not deep dish.

I always though deep dish rims were rims with a big lip. Anyone Ive ever talked to has called them that?

Whats the difference?

Use a offset calculator to compare your current wheels to the new wheels. With the new dimensions, check the car with a tape. Do you clear the suspension, brakes calipers and fenders? Reference: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Think about it. How deep a lip could an 8" wide rim get? Not very much.

The lip is 3". Not the deepest, but definitely deep enough for me. Either way I can't spend 1.6k for wheels haha. I just haven't gotten used to having a car like this enough to justify those prices for something that I see as cosmetic. Yeah I've checked the calculators and read posts and wikis, but I still don't understand the concept, no idea why ;O

Easiest way to put it is that you are looking to purchase wheels that are poorer fitting than the OEM wheels (higher offset = sunk setup = looking like a train)

How about just purchasing spacers and keeping your OEM wheels?

take your time, spend good money. it will save you $ in the long run.
the Z is worth spending the $ on.
thats why we are here isn't it!?!?
$1.6k is bottom feeding for wheels. wait till you start to appreciate quality wheels.

Sad that wheels sold at Sears Auto Centers are going to find their way onto Z's lol

Fawking young kids and their complete lack of knowledge.

I don't agree with this assessment. We are trying to guide the OP into buying proper fitting wheels with good offsets. He doesn't need to spend 3k to do that. There are plenty of wheels out there that are priced decent and offer good looks, durability, and proper sizes. He just needs to do his research.

Both sets of my Enkei wheels were around $1200 each. Bottom feeding would probably start at around $900, but you can still get a quality set of Rota's for that.

+1 for both points

Plenty of good value in our marketplace as well.

The higher the offset the more sunk in the wheel will be. The lower the offset Tue more flush otpush out the rims will be .. reguardkess of the lip size.. ur rims have 3 inches lip wheel and if it have like 10 offset then yes it seat outward more but if ur rims had 5 inches lip but offset is high like 40 it the same as having 3 inches lip that got 10 offset.. the lip on the rims doessnt tell u if it will seat flush or battleship sunken in .. but the offset.. if 19x11 have 5 inches lip but have 40 50 offset it will be so sunk ur rims will hit the strut of the inner side

Purchase: 20mm and 25mm spacers (Front and Rear respectively). You'll be glad you spent $200 on the spacers instead of those Craigslist specials.
