Its a catch 22.
Make it straight crap caliper clearance and much smaller lip.
Add a little konvex to the shape adds caliper clearance and bigger lips.
Most forged wheels have a little bit of konvex as well.

meh, i dont know if Axis is "BACK' per say..
they used to be the bomb like 2000-2002.. but i gotta say that at a grand plus for a set of staggered 20s... meh. Your forgestars and other concave brands are just a better deal IMHO.
I bought my VIPs which i did love.. but I bought them for 500 bucks new. in 20".
The way i figure it, if they retail for a grand, i bet i can find em for a hair over half.. if i cant and i have to spend a grand..... then what can i find thats 2 grand.. that i can get for the grand.
either way, its all about the deals. I doubt many ppl bought f14s when they wanted 2800 bucks for them haha.. Now 1700? That i could manage, and did.
Did Axis get correct with thier MSRP and thier margins to dealers so you guys can help them to be competitive again? Just curious.. totally not a thread derail attempt.. i just think alot of ppl are thinking Axis is old news.. maybe you have some fresh news on them... ?

I know my 20x 9.5 came in at 28.. which isn't too terrible. Id say a 19 would maybe shave 1-2 lbs off that. Still quite respectable. But again... for 1200 bucks? Hmm... may want roll Forgestar etc. Mass is in good places w their wheels too... also avail by the op vendor.

As soon as they arrive which will be about 1.5 to 2 weeks I will get them weighed.
Forgestar only offers face wheels so its hard to compare a wheel like this to forgestar. Not to mention the wait time of 10-12 weeks to get a forgestar wheel. Also 19" forgestar wheels are in the 1500 range.

Axis was one of THE brands back in the time around when the first Fast and Furious came out with Racing Hart (correct me if i'm wrong but i think the green eclipse had Mod7's) They were just so gorgeous but then they started making models like the Zero, the Hiro...looking like everyone else. My first car was a Ford Probe GT 1995 with japanese imported 2.5L KLZE and i looked at to the Ne-O's. Then fell in love with the Enkei ZR-1 for the look and the weight. Anyway to get back to subject...
Axis has potential like it always had. The simple thing they gotta do is to sit down at a table and look into the trends. They'll see that many people like the flush look with big lips or sporty concave wheels, hell some forged ones!
Cars come new with big wheels now, if the company wants to keep on going, i hope they come with sexy wheels like before but make it concave and/or with a big lip.
One last thing which seems to start to be taken in consideration: Stop with the high offsets unless you want your clients to be limited to Honda civics or any compact "mini-sized equipped engine" car.
Let's see some wheels for some real japanese sports cars, Axis.
P.S.: Pardon me for my honesty.

NO offense taken.
But you have to remember that Axis is a sub 1500 dollars a set.
ADV.1 starts at 4299 work and ssr are 3k+ along with a 3 month wait, rays are 2500+ along with a 2-3 month wait and forgestar is pulling back from all lip stuff.
Axis will fall inline with certain segments of the market just like other wheel lines will fall into others.
We carry all the big brands from adv.1 to axis to Volk. We want to be able to provide a quality wheel to fit everyone's budget.

I understand Eric, i think you're doing a great job. For the fact of the money, a style does not mean lots of money. I'll just take for example the new XXR526. cheap but looks very good. Anyway i think we understand each other very well and i'll be happy to grab you a set this spring if i find anything that meets my plans
Take care!
