Default OEM GT/Track 18/19 wheels?

From my research I keep getting different results. One site says 07/08 Track and GT wheels are 18/19 (with the dimples that match the door handle) but i've never actually seen them on a GT. The ones i've seen are the 18's without dimples. I have chrome 18's on my 08 GT roadster and want to get the 18/19 set or the Nismo v2 370Z set. I'd rather do 18 F so it won't be so harsh on the street. I can get the Nismo new for $2300 or local for $2k new + tax but i'm not sure about the track wheels. I'm still looking for those. btw i'm goracer on every forum (& MSN,AOL, etc) accept here.
  • Were the 18/19 for track models only, an option for GT or were they supposed to come one both models?
  • Has anyone put the new Nismo v2 19's on? If so, how bad is the front on bumps, put holes, driveways, etc?

The car handles pretty well at speed but it seems like there is no power steering. The Boxster S feels more nimble but it looks like A MR2 from the outside.

NISMO and Grand Touring models both had the 18" front 19" rear wheels:

Bumps and pot holes suck no matter what. Your concerns have more to do with tire size and ride height.

Since youll be going up to a 19 front (I think thats what you meant) youll most likely lose some sidewall, in which case you may notice a difference in overall harshness (again I think thats what you meant) but its completely subjective.

I went from 225/45/18 to 265/30/19 and felt just a minor difference in ride quality.

The actually tire construction makes a huge difference too. Example Hankook V12 vs Nitto NT05. The NT05 will be very harsh compaired to a V12 due to the stiff sidewall.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I was asking about 19's up front. Actually I have 18 F/R and figured out that only the coup GT's got the 18/19's. The Nismo v2 wheels look tight and have a better tire selection. The track/GT coup wheels are a lot cheaper but costco doesn't even offer the rear (very limited tire selection).

Has anyone tried 255-F/275-R on the 18/19 setup? That's a pretty good tire selection with only a minor increase in hight.

That is what i would run 255/40-18 front and 275/35 rear. Those sizes are equal to the common "normal" Z aftermarket tire sizing.
