Default Lug Nut question (splined)

Hey guys, recently bought a 240 with the splined lugz pictured below. (Assuming they are gorilla or mcgard lugz)
I was wondering if the key/socket tool to take them off is universal for all these types of lugz? They offer them in different sizes, i.e. 13/16ths and 7/8th or 17mm and 3/4".
I am assuming that the end where you hook your wrench up to is the only thing thats different. So can I order any of the keys (gorilla or mcgard) or do I need to find out the exact size of the lug? I figured someone here has had these or uses them and would know.

No, they're generally not universal. If you can't find one to fit, then take a 12pt socket that's a little too small and hammer it onto the lug nut. That should be able to get them off.

It definitely doesnt look like a Gorilla. I would suggest that you go to a good local wheel and tire place. Maybe like a Town Fair tire store in CT / MA area. They usually will carry enough hardware that they may have something that will work for you.

Just a thought.

Well after being to many tire shops in the area I still have had no luck. I may try one of those universal socket grabber things or the 12 point trick. At one shop I was able to grab a couple keys but they were 6 and 7 spine keys. Mine apparently is 8....
My question now is are the 8 spline key ones universal? Now that I narrowed down what I need? Gunna give this one last shot and try to get a 8 spline key....if any vendors want to hop in and make a sale now that'd be great. Make my life easy haha
