My buddy has had the nittos on his FD for over 10k miles and they have done very well. His experience at 3 track events was pretty good. He said that they never got greasy and they stick very well. I would be interested to hear about the mx's as well. I think someone already has a recent thread going. You may want to search. You probably can't go wrong with either for the price. Personally I have t1s toyos and love them.

be warned that the MX will wear out real fast. Two of my friends have them and wow is all i can say. They grip very well, they are pretty much a glorified track tire made for the street.

I'm partial to Dunlop SP9000s. Mine are just great.

I've had very good experiences with the NT-555's. Outstanding dry traction, minimal road noise, and acceptable wet handling.

I have the MX tires now and I'm very happy with them. Like BoostTed suggested, they are probably more of a track tire than a street tire and will wear our faster that the Nitto.

When I had the crappy stock Stones replaced with the Kumhos I felt like the steering and handling was much more predictable and smooth. Ride quality was about the same but road noise is better than OEM.

Kumho MX. Best bang for the buck.
Just just changed my 2 fronts to 245-40-18 & I already had it on the rear. They are great tires. I don't know about tread wear.

I've got 6k on mine, they grip well in the summer and are predictable at the limit. Only problem in the summer is I never know what pavement surface they will screach on, I want STEALTH quite tires not one's that make noise when I'm hot foot'n it. They wore well over the summer. To my dismay, in the winter, in mild california, I don't have as much grip, lot less and the tread is disapearing before my eye's. Greasy in the temps below 50 degree's and disapearing tread, kiss of death for me. I should have went with my first choice,......S-03's

Default NITTOS

I have been running the NT-555's for about 2k miles. I have no complaints about these tires. They are superior to the OEMs in every way. They are cheap, they don't seem to be wearing quickly at all, and I can hardly engage the traction control on dry road. I drive with the t/c off most of the time and the car just sticks to any direction I throw it in. By the way, I think the tread looks pretty good on the car too.

Thanks for all the replies! I like the Nittos, but the Goodyear F1 GS D3 looks like a very good tire, although almost 1 grand for a set.
