Default Any new news on NISMO for VDC?

I want to get a set of NISMO sways, but I thought I'd wait until the VDC approved bars came out. I won't purchase until the spring anyway.

i am considering the Nismo S-Tune and the Nismo Sways, but like you was concerned with the "w/o VDC". Sent and e-mail to Performance Nissan and got a phone call, with follow up e-mail yesterday.

Was advised that both are now approved for use with VDC. You do however, assuming you are concerned about your warranty, must get from a Nissan dealer. You provide them with you VIN at time of purchase. They in turn will update your vehicle information.

You might call and confirm, but I do have an e-mail to support my conversation with Performance Nissan.

You are fine with VDC equipd cars and the NISMO Suspension / Wheels / Sways...

They just didnt test it on VDC cars when they first released it and had to say not compatible for insurance reasons.

I have the NISMO WHeels on my VDC car no problems.

We have installed Sways / Suspension on non VDC cars and no problems...

So go ahead and order

Does that mean the conversation and e-mail that i got from Jenny is correct. Motor Sports did not test VDC "Z's"? We must order from Nissan in order to insure there are no "Grey" products out there? Also, by providing name, phone number and VIN, are records will be updated and there will be NO warranty issues with Nismo S-Tune or Sways?

My understanding is that the serial # on the S-tuned suspension and sways need to be associated with your VIN number so that the parts can be properly warrantied by Nissan. If S-tuned are installed by a Nissan dealer, then the installation will be warrantied as well.

To recap....
1. Buy from Nissan and installed by Nissan = warranty on parts and installation

2. Buy from Nissan but self- or speed shop-installed = warranty on parts but not on installation

3. Buy from a speed shop = no warranty

(Correct me if I'm wrong, Jeff@performance or Jason@performance).

BTW, my Z is VDC equipped. I had my S-tuned suspension and sways installed at Performance Nissan (they have superb customer service, I might add.) And they are fine so far.

I talked with my nissan dealer locally and he told me the only way the nismo suspension was covered under warrenty on vdc equipped cars was that you had to buy tha s-tune suspension the sways and nismo wheels all together. Called another dealer and they confirmed the same thing.

Sounds like different dealers are putting out different information. I received a similar response from Courtesy, but got a response that I liked from Performance. At NO time did Performance indicate that it was all or nothing if you wanted it covered under warranty. Hopefully, Jason at Performance Nissan reads this post and responds.

Sounds like Nissan/Nismo is forcing us into a corner. I don't want to buy Nismo wheels. So, might look at mods that provide the best performance (i.e., 350EVO sways and Nismo S-tune).

That dealer knows what they read from the bullitens not from actual installs...

NISSAN and NISSAN MOTOR SPORTS are HUGE corporations. They need to cover their butts if something goes wrong. They do not want some huge lawsuit etc...

If JOE SUSPENSION company has a problem with a product they can vanish off the face of the earth. NISSAN can not, they are too big...

That is why you dont see a different company saying "not for use with cars with VDC" the majority of the cars on this board with suspension upgrades have VDC and they are perfectly fine.

The only cars I know of that have a problem with the VDC light coming on at odd times is when the diamater of the front and raer tires are the SAME when the rear are suposed to be of a larger diamater.

So, You do NOT have to worry about the NISMO SWAYS / WHEELS / SUSPENSION or any other combination causing problems with your VDC.

It is just a "recomendation". Of course a dealer is going to tell you to get all at once.. They want your MONEY!

Buy only the sways if you want.

I have VDC and the NISMO WHEELS installed, not one problem.. Im using the recomended tire sizes though, which are larger diamater rear's.

Let me know if I was not very clear on the subject

and as far as the VIN and SUSPENSION goes.

When you purchase from http://www.performancenissanparts.com for example, We take your VIN and submit it to NISSAN / NISSAN MOTOR SPORTS and they register the S-Tune with your car. From that point on, you can install, your dealer can install, we can install. And it is attached to your vin.

Jason,

So you are saying a person could get just the Nismo wheels on a VDC equipped car without getting the S-Tune suspension?

We are all familiar with the warning posted regarding putting Nismo wheels on a VDC equipped Z. How about all other aftermarket wheels? I suppose this warning would apply to all wheels that have not been tested with the VDC, especially if they are other than stock sizes (both wheels and tires).

Jason, are you saying someone could get the 350EVO Sways and S-Tune, but not the wheels and Performance Nissan is going to request VIN and report it to Nissan?

Jason I called your parts department after I talked to my local dealer and they told me the same thing. That it's not a problem to put on a vdc car but the only way that nissan covers it under warrenty on a vdc car is to install the s-tune suspension the sways and the nismo wheels. I was also told that nissan is supposed to be testing on a vdc car and when testing was done it would be o.k. to put on one peice at a time.

kinda off topic, but how much does the s-tune suspension lower the car? I haven't looked at it much but is it adjustable?

it is only the SUSPENSION that requires the VIN attachment...

not the sways...

in order for US to get any S-Tune Suspensions we must supply them with your VIN number...

So, the only way we can order 10 suspensions is if we have 10 vin numbers...

dig?

Something that I do not get.......why are they so concerned about the VDC anyway? Will the periodic action of the VDC system tear this stuff apart? I don't think so. Just doesn't make any sense to me. But then again, I rarely understand myself at times
