Default What Do you Do! Tire Shop Damaged Wheels

What do you do, when a Tire and Wheel Biz F**ks up your Wheels.....

My Wheels were 99.999% Perfect before this and cost just under $4,000.

Attached, see the Chip to the right of center in pic.

I'd get in touch with the shop's manager, but if you didn't catch it right after getting your car back, it might be harder to prove your case. Some shops give you money for a new wheel, some for it to be repaired, and some say, "not my problem". GL and this is def not in the right section.

Get ahold of the highest person in the company you can or get a hold of the better business bureau. Sadly the latter is still probably not going to get it paid for but just telling them your going to call the bbb might make them rethink not fixing it for you. Did you call them out on it when you picked up the wheel?

I was there while there were doing it, and caught the First damaged wheel and told them right a way,"you just chipped my Wheel, please take extreme care with My Wheels". Then they damage a second wheel. I spoke with the Owner as he was leading the Job. He was apologizing for it, and was very sorry. but that didn't fix my wheels. I didn't feel I was going to get any Money out of them without going to court. Incompetent People....

nope... refinishing is now your only option... or stare at
the damage in perpetuity. that's what you get for taking
your setup to some rando shop.

btw those wheels have never been worth 4k. sry.

And you are a Wheel Expert? your Experience in this field is?

It was a Tire Shop I had Work done at 4 Times before, and everything was Fine. Not Some Random Shop, DS

And Also, Please Tell Me, What Wheels I have and include, Brand, Model, Finish, Dia, Width, offset, and Valve, so that I can Verify if I paid too much for them.

+1 to this.

Your wheels are not ruined and can be fixed, it would be alot easier to get a quote from a wheel repairer and bring that to the manager then it would to ask for $4K

It should be no more than $150-$200 to fix each of the damaged wheels

Yup. I had an incident with a local company that caused curb rash looking damage to one of my wheels after tire installation. I noticed it when I got home and called them ASAP. They gave me a loaner car for a day and had a mobile wheel repair company fix the wheel. I couldn't even find the damage after they were done. Good luck.

^^ this

When you're as **** about your rims and tires as most of us are, you want to take your tires to a *person* not a shop. Whether that person works at a shop or their own garage, you want the same trustworthy person doing the work every time. In your case, find out who did the work previously at the shop and request that only they do the work from now on. And if they don't own up to the damage speak with your wallet and find someone else to do the work.

so after he apologized then what happened? you should've tried to resolve the problem with him same day and work out a deal such as not charging you for the labor. you'd expect wheel and tire specialists not to slip up. i wouldn't let them get away with this.

Looks like knock off Volk GT-C's.............one of the least favorite Volk Wheels.

What are they? One of the random forged wheel makers that popped up in florida over the years?

I did not pay a dime for the work, and I was not going to....

He said after talking a bit, "well I can't charge you", he new that I was not satified with that, but I know I was not going to get any money out of him.

He offered stuff like puting Nitrogen in the tires, and a couple of free oil changes. This means nothing to me, Plus I don't want them working on my car anymore.

I'm actuly going a pretty good job repairing the damage myself..... I;ve had lots of experience over the years doing this type of work....

I'm just so pissed that people don't take care when doing a job, 1/2 *** seams to be good enough for them...

Lol at nitrogen being offered...........what a joke. Should have stopped him from working on your car after the first chip.

If they are true multipiece I would separate them and have them all refinished.

Well you are SOL. When there was no proof that they damaged the wheels, invoice proving you were ever there, the owner won...most tire shop won't even try n take care of you. I had a set of miesters that all got damaged inner barrels because of the tire machine, spoke with a attorney and got no where through the courts. They left like dimple/crimp marks where the machine gripped the wheel. Shop said it was due to the type of barrel, step lip...

Never go to Espino in San Antonio tx...

Shouldve had a signed agreement stating if wheels are damaged, chipped, or paint is flaked off that they would either buy a new replacement wheel, or repair yours at no extra cost to you. At least thats what i have anyways lol
