Adr Wheels Vs Volk Racing
Rojas arent lighter than Volks...an 18" Roja formula 7 weighs 23 lbs whereas an 18" TE37 weighs 17lbs...thats a pretty big difference....but anyways, this debate is gonna go on forever, this topic seems to resurface over and over again...bottom line when it comes to rims and such is you usually get what you pay for.

Another ADR owner here.
I love mine. I also like the Volk/Rays rims as well. I am just not made of money. I'd rather spend the extra couple of thousand dollars on something like... oh... rent?
I keep hearing "You get what you pay for." ... I think that is exactly true. I got a nice looking, lighter and bigger than stock wheel, with way better rubber ... for a great price! I'm happy.
I'm not knocking the more expensive rims... I know they are stronger, and super light, and would be great on a show car, or a track car. Truth be known... I don't go to the track every weekend, nor do I take my car to shows. I think my ADRs look good (and so do the large # of people locally that have complimented me on them) ... and it didn't break the bank! If I were sitting on a pile of extra money, with no other responsibilities, sure... I might blow it on some really expensive rims... But I'm not, so I didn't.

Volks are great rims. They make one of the best wheels out in the market. There are many other great wheels out there BBS, HRE, OZ, Racing Hart (not RH Evo's), SSR, Works & many more. One of the main reason why there are big difference in wheel prices are because of the way wheels are made. Most name brand wheel companies make their wheels by forging as oppose to casting which is more costly but at the same time, forging make the wheels lighter & stronger. On average, forged wheels are 2-3 times more expensive than cast alloy wheels. If you want to know the details between casting & forging, go to tirerack. Even with casting , there are many way of casting to make a wheel. Some are lot better than others. BBS makes one of the best cast alloy wheels out in the market that is why their are famous at the same time, they are expensive . They also make great forged wheels. Many wheels companies have different technology. Better the technology, more quality wheels the company makes which means more $$$. Not to start any flame, I would not trust some of the wheel companies out there. One of them is RH Evo's. First of all, they are not make by Racing Hart & 2nd, you don't know who make the wheel, where its made & what kind of quality they are.
If you have the money, get the the best quality wheels out in the market like Volks but if you don't, there are other great wheels which are afforable.
Bottom line is " you get what you paid for"
Please don't compare Volk & ADR. They are in a different class.

Now, I enjoy my Z enough that I will spend over $2k for a set of Volks because I love the style, weight savings, and that they are forged. For the most part, you get what you pay for... I don't go around telling people that their porsche are a rip-off, and that they should have gotten a Z for less than half that price. As such, I wouldn't go around telling people that Volks are a rip-off, go with ADR's. Just be happy with the decision you made, and put the $ where you want it. If you don't want to spend $2000 on rims, get some $1000 ones, and spend that $1000 elsewhere.
I put the $60k that I saved, from not buying the porsche, to upgrading the kitchen of my house.
i wish we had intelligent conversations over on theVboard about this stuff
I get flamed all the time for pointing out knockoffs, i dont do it to make fun of people, people just ask about rims and i point out that they are knockoffs, and to consider that before they buy them.
Nonetheless, my point is lost, and everyone drives around in Konigs and 5Zigens.

i personally think that volks are incredible wheels. oh how i would love to get some le37s and put nicer suspension & breaks on my car. unfortunately i have other things to worry about. ($2500 for wheels + 1000 for tires + 2000 for suspension + 2000 for breaks) i think you can see my delema. grad school or nicer ride?
your buddy is a retard for saying what he says. they are not ricer wheels. volk are high end racing wheels and just happend to look amazing on the z. they are light weight & forged desgined for high performance.
also i hate the word knockoff - lets stop using it. i don't associate 350z with a knockoff. just a well priced sports car. i wouldn't want someone to call it a knockoff. different manufacturers exist because of competition. this is what we call it capitalism.

ZZ, what offset are your wheels? I like the concaved look of that offset, as seen also with the greddy car... which I plan to replicate... either with the TE37s or the Nismo LM5... when the 19's are offered by Nismo. I was looking at some other pics of the Nismo cars, and some look flatter and not concaved.
In fact, what are the entire specs of the wheels and tires...
BTW, VOLK RACING WHEELS ARE USED IN THE JAPAN GRAND TOURING CHAMPIONSHIP AND USED ACROSS THE MAJORITY IF NOT ALL OF JAPAN'S RACING SERIES. VOLKS ARE MADE BY RAY'S, WHICH ALSO MAKE NISMO, TRD (toyota), MAZDASPEED, and RALLIART (Mitsubishi) WHEELS... THERE IS NO QUESTION ON THE INTEGRITY OF THESE WHEELS. IF YOU CAN SPEND THE MONEY, JUST BUY ANY RAY'S.

9.5" fronts, 10.5" rears, both with +22 offset. 245/35 19, 275/35 19 tires.
Here is my .02....
Rims are basically rims. You pay more for the Volk name and a few features that the majority of owners will never use. Forged and lightweight rims are great for road racing, but probably less than 5% of Z owners will track their cars.

volks are great.
what offsets are the adr available in?
some volks can be ordered in any size/offset you want within reason.
i cant afford volks for my old 240sx so i'm going with cheaper 5zigen wheels.
i still readily admit the superiority of the volks though...
wonder why this guy cant?
