Default Anyone run Nitto NT555 tires

Going to be buying new tires soon and was going to go with Nitto NT555 for the street. Anyone had any experience with this and how they perform and grip the street? Any other recommendations appreciated. Basically looking for a high performance street tire that looks good. I personally think these look better than the V12 so curious if anyone had any luck with these.

Its a great tire.... Too me, it in between slightly overkill for the street, and there is better for track/autocross.

Personally I would go for the V12. I swear it is the best strictly street driving tire out there for the money. Never heard a complaint from someone who was had them.

I ran them back in the day for a couple HPDE's and autox events. They are okay for street and had good wear, but not anything special.

I would take V12's any day of the week over a 555.

Looks? They are both round and black

I currently have 555's on my Z. Very good tire IMO. Good treadwear, good grip. Been looking at the V12's though, for my next set.

Name a tire. Any tire. And someone will tell you how great it is. Try it.

I ran the Nitto 555s for about 25,000 miles and just recently replaced them. They probably could have done another 2,000 miles, but I commute a lot and needed to change.

Comfort wise, they sucked. Performance wise, they did fairly well for a street tire but don't take them anywhere near the rain if you plan on driving aggressively. I autocrossed on them probably 5 times and never had a problem. I ran them at about 36-38psi cold for the events.

This guy knows^^^^

They are very fun on the street once they're warmed up but dangerous as fuck in the rain.

i'll be getting another set for sure.

I'm running Invo's Love em with the exception of cold weather. They suck unless the temps are above 60. Other than that, I can't hear a thing compared to the Toyo's, no sidewall flex, etc.

I am running these now and have put 5,000 miles on them. i only drive on the street and agree with the others. Its a good overall tire in dry conditions, but like most tires if you try to do stupid stuff in the rain..... these tires will make you look bad.

I think the OP means the tread pattern looks good, if that is the case, I agree

im running V12s now (one month) but I ran the Falken 452 and the NITTO 555 for years, both yeilding similar performance dry and wet. I got 25K miles out of them with OEM camber, rotating (off the rim, remount) every 7K-10K miles.

Cant go wrong

V12
555
452, took a bit to warm these up in colder temps, but lasted the longest at 30K miles

IMO

THESE TIRES SUCK IN RAIN...

Here is my story... I'm going down the highway, its raining hard, I'm driving 55 mph in a straight line right with other cars, I'm in a 350z with the nt555, my car out of no where decides to make a 90 degree turn and in to the damn median... Shittiest tires in rain... I don't even know why my dealer put these on my car knowing it rains like hell over here. I might even sue them for that.
If anyone has any similar evidence please share!

P.S. I wasn't doing anything stupid so before you hate, read what I said(Driving in a straight LINE!)

i discovered that a proper alignment is more important than the tire when it comes to driving in the rain.

ive had the 555 for about 4k miles, they run wide, so i had to add camber to stop the rubbing. (was running re760 before)

dry grip is good, they drive good in the rain. but as it was mentioned earlier dont drive aggressive in the rain.

BEST thing is the price. i paid $150 each for 275-40-18 tires from discount tires. for the price you cant beat this tire.

I've been running them for >25k miles now; 15k with -1.8 camber front and -2.6 rear. I have done ~70mph in the rain for ~ 500 miles straight. Its fairly stable. Torque and wet conditions with this tire is a problem. If you seek trouble, you will find it.
I would buy again given superb wear thus far.
