Default HRE Flagship......face lift

Had my wheels re-polished, powder coated center-piece and inner lip to match zee Silverstone body. Changed the rear two tires from 30% aspect ratio to 35%. So anyone looking for 3 month old Toyo Proxes T1-S 275/30/19” let me know.

Happy New Year

Hey man,

Just want to say your wheels are the best. I can't believe you actually went on to color match the inner piece..as if it wasn't already beautiful!

My friends from Audiworld were checking out pics of your car and they totally envy those wheels and how they make the Z look.

Keep up the good work and good luck...death to all potholes!

another thing... post more pics! Wheels like that need some more quality day time shots!

Default Before lowering with the Teins

Thanks for the compliments, 35oZephyR, they are very well crafted. In fact, I have a bunch of friends who ended up getting the HRE(s) after seeing them on my zee; moreover, the HRE aftersale's support usually closes the sale.

Whenever, I send my car in for servicing, at the end of the day the service manager will inform me about clients enquiring about the wheels and if they could contact me for a closser look.

Here are some shots before the Teins and drop, and the rears were 30% aspect ratio.

I shall be happy to post more shots, this weekend, with the new finish, rear tires and drop.

Happy New Year

Looks good Gerald- I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with how much better the car looks with the taller rear tires and lowered suspension! ... not that it doesn't already look great!!

Regards,
Bob

Thanks!

I can already picture it, Bob, as even with the 18" stock wheels it is beginning to look more like a zee

Now that the inner lip is powder coated, it'll be much easier to keep clean; as with all the brushes in the world could not get the bare aluminum to stay spotless.

I should post pictures of some of the best brushes I've found specially for use on/over/through the 840R(s).

Andrew at Performance Motorsports did a super job; you need to also see my polished intake plenum and powder coated strut bar.

Gerald, I didn't think the wheels could look better than they did but they do.

Can't wait to see the pictures with them mounted and the car dropped.

Gerald,

I am always amazed that even with such fantastic components you can even do better. The powdercoating is such a fantastic idea for those HRE's.

Absolutely not, did speak to Andrew on Friday; I am picking up my strut bar next week, as Andrew is waiting for the new styled bolts.

It does get better every time, what a BODY

Gerald, my 445s are sitting in my garage for now. I really dont want to put them on until spring. Actually, let me rephrase that -- I want to put them on now, but don't want the salt/sand that is being liberally applied to the roads to touch them. I told Vic that I will probably not be able to wait, and am currently accepting side bets on the date I put them on the car.

Default How does one drive the HRE's in the SNOW

I hear what you're saying, Jeff; between a rock and a hard place.

Took my HRE's off in December, but now they're back on and it’s only January; however, couldn't get myself to drive to the workshop this dusted Monday morning. Had to get a flatbed for an appointment at Nissan service for some unorthodox goodness; clutch and fly wheel package.

Can’t wait to see you put your HRE(s) on, what’s wheel profiles, and tires that you’re getting?

Gerald

I've got Toyo T1S 245/35 in the front and 285/35 in the rear. The car will sit about a 1/2" lower than I have it now. I'll probably adjust the Teins so the drop won't be as bad, since I scrape at the end of my driveway occasionally now. I'll also be about 3% smaller circumference than stock. A little more than I wanted, but not intolerable.

Good luck on the clutch and flywheel. I haven't seen any reviews here on the UR stuff that I can remember. I'll be interested to see how you feel about that package.
