Thanks VDOT
Long story short i was driving home from work crossing over the fairfax county parkway which was apparently getting repaved. Half of the parkway was repaved and half was not so as a crossed over it i hit about a 2-3 inch bump, this was the result
varrstoen
So i have acouple of questions for you guys,
first off is this repairable?
secondly, I dont have a dash cam but i did take a picture of the place it happened the day after and there were no signs up that said bump (still half paved) is there a way that i can get vdot to pay for repairs / a new rim or would it be to much hassle for what is worth?
and last but not least iv been driving on it for 3ish days, i have to competely refill it with air about ever 30 hours or so,i still have to get to work and school so should i be driving on this or should i put my donut on?
Thanks !

I go over those bumps all the time since they started repaving ffx parkway. My M45 sport rims on my Z have never bent. I'm glad I stuck with factory parts...lol. OP I hope you get it straightened out.

I'm curious if VDOT is responsible for non-OEM equipment items. Either way, doesn't hurt to try, just don't mention Varresteon.
Lesson learned here: purchase high quality rims. 2-3 inch bump should not (by any means) crack a wheel.
The rim can be welded, though it won't ever be the same again. Structure has been compromised.

Yea, I would try to submit a claim, it might be worth the effort. It's not VA, but I got montgomery county to front the bill when I cracked my tranny on my lowered accord when some residential street had some weird dip and a man-hole cover karate kicked the tranny. I called and they saw a log in the system of that section being reported but they haven't gotten to fixing it. Shop faxed the bill directly to them and they paid. It was hard to find who to talked to, but once i got to the right place, they didn't put up any resistance and pretty much told me to have the shop fax over the bill.

I called vdot's customer service , the guy was pretty mean and didnt seem like he wanted to do anything for me ;\ (I did email them with pictures of the unmarked road and my car, but still no response)
On a good note my new rim came in and i repainted them (plasti-dip lol) but i think it came out decent let me know what you guys think

on a side note two-toning rims with plasti-dip is extremely easy !!
And thanks again for all the responses much appreciated

Sucks that it happened to you br0. I doubt VDOT will do anything but it still wouldn't hurt to try. I bent a wheel while driving in the rain, luckily it's a forged wheel so it didn't crack. I learned my lesson, don't run low pro's in the Mid A...or anywhere w/construction.
I met you guys at the toysrus before the cruise to the CPT meet, good times homie
