So I just recently bought this car (2003 enthusiast) from a previous owner and I want to switch out the stock rims. I am looking for rims 18" or 19" with a glossy black finish.

I am very new to cars, (meaning I do not know much about them), so I did as much research on the forum as I could,
and discovered the importance of "spacers" and "offets" and "suspensions" and "slamming the car" <- (whatever the hell that means).
Basically you guys made it clear that I need to be sure I have the proper measurements before I make a purchase and I thank you.

So far, these are the only rims I could find (that fits my budget of $500-$1000).

The specs are:
Name: VSR SONIC
Size: 18"x 8"
Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3
Off Set: +45mm


As for my research, I see that the bolt pattern is a match but the off set is a little high.
18" combination:
Front 18" x 9.5" , Offset +25 to +30, Tires 255/40/18
Rear 18" x 10.5" , Offset +28 to +35, Tires 285/40/18 or 295/35/18

Will these rims not look nice or fit properly on my car?
According to the ebay chart (shrug) its compatible with my 350z and will fit.

If I am not making the right decision here could you guys please guide me in the right direction or help me find decent 18" or 19" rims with a black glossy finish and proper offsets?
My budget is $500-$1000 and I am really going for a nice clean look, I am more for show and not performance but not going to completely rice out the car. (dunno if i will get flamed for what i just said)

Anyhow, I really appreciate whoever takes the time out to read this and help me as I am a little new to the forum but still tried my best to research.

And just to recap the general questions (because I know this is a long read -_-) here they are:

1) What is the off set and what will happen if it is higher than the recommended 25-30?
2) Will these rims not look nice or fit properly on my car?
3) Could you guys please guide me in the right direction or help me find decent 18" or 19" rims with a black glossy finish and proper offsets?

The wheels that you have listed are for a G35 Sedan or FWD only in that fitment

You want to remain near or lower than the specs you listed from the FAQ

If you only have $500 just do yourself a favor and save until you can scrounge at least $1,500

 

Keep saving till you have at least $1k for just wheels. Possibly look into used.

 

Thank you Waizzz. Just a quick question, even though it lists the +03 350z on the fitment chart, it is not a match? Or just not a match to the standards of the typical measurements of the specs from the FAQ?

and to make it easier for myself and others like you that are willing to help,
I will extend my new budget from $500-$1000 for rims + tires but I really do not think I can shell out anymore than that. Thanks again


Thanks a lot for your help terrasmak, I have now raised my budget to $1,000 and I also forgot to mention that I would not mind buying used so thank you for bringing that up.

keep saving leave it stock. with your new budget of 1000 you can find a nice used set in the marketplace here.

start by saving up a bit more money then upgrade to something better than those...you will find something better here in the marketplace and most vendors will help you with any questions you may have. good luck

So it would seem that with my 1k budget I will most likely have to buy a used set, which I have no qualms with doing.
With that being said I just want to thank everyone for helping me out I really appreciate it.

Right now, the style of rims I am looking for are ones with:
- 5 spokes
- Glossy black finish.
- 18" or 19" (But really that is just dependant on the price, so most likely I will have to get 18")

and i think thats about it.
oh and as for the "brand name" of rims, I really don't care about that.
just like how a regular t-shirt is 5$ but if you slap a Lacoste crocodile on it it becomes a $30 t-shirt,
I don't care if my rims are a popular brand name, so long as it looks nice. plus, that will probably save me a few bucks too.

so, with that being said, 6 spoke, glossy black, 18" or 19", no name brand, is that specific and helpful enough for you to
have an understanding of what rims I am looking for / and at the same time capable of obtaining with my 1k budget?

You get what you pay for... Buy cheap "no name wheels" you compromise safety. Keep your stockers till you can afford quality wheels.

I will say that you don't have to pay $4,000 for a set of wheels but you should know that you will definitely feel the performance difference with a heavier and cheaper wheel.
