Default TPMS question

I recently bought my z, and I didn't notice until after purchase, that the tire pressure warning light is on.

The multigage just reads ---- for all of them.

My question is, how do I know if I have TPMS sensors in my wheels, if the batteries are dead in them, or if there is another issue like them not being synced up?

I read the thread about manually registering them to reset them, but I would like to know that I actually have them and that they have battery life in them before going through all that work.

Would the only way be to actually take off the wheel? Or would a OBDii scanner tell me anything? Or another way?

Thanks.

You can also get Nissan's CONSULT system to check each TPMS unit. It can also register them to your car at the same time.

First look at your valve stems and see if you have sensors installed.

That is a TPMS setup. If all 4 look the same you have the 4 needed sensors. If they are not working, probably not set to your car, I doubt all 4 are dead. I still have 2 originals in my car, and 03 with 155k on them.
