Talking Opinions and help needed. Rim cleaning and Lugnut colors

Hey gents I'm soon to be installing coil covers and for awhile now I've been looking at my rims looking for a way to thoroughly clean them... any advice on what to use to basically make them look new and remove the nasty "rust" on my rotors. Also any opinions on a new lugnut color or should I stay chrome? Thanks!

You can just spray paint the rotors with high temp paint. Any paint where the pads contact will come right off when the brakes are applied. Basically all the rusted parts would be left painted.

Like he said. Clean the rotors with a wire brush and paint them.

Hmm.. Wouldn't that be kind of bad for your brakes? To use your pads to strip off the paint?

You wouldn't be fully painting the whole rotor, you're just painting the hat. Any excess on the surface will come off from braking. You probably wouldn't want to apply the brakes for the first time amongst other traffic, but a couple pumps and they'll be fine. There's so much heat and pressure from your brakes that any excess come off clean.

If anyone wants to avoid this kind of rust in the first place, buy some rotors with coated hats. You'll never have to worry about them looking like this.

Safe bet is to mask off as much of the rotor that the pads will touch from getting over spray on. Painting the whole rotor and using the pads to scrape it off is a great way to gum up your pads and cause issues.
