Hankook Help
Hi all i'm looking at buying new wheels for m Z, wheels are Wolf S1P tires Hankook V12, has anyone used these tires before? i told the shop i wanted something that's good in the wet with low road noise and not directional, guy at the shop told me this is the tire for you, tire rack say's it a directional summer tire WTF ???, any help would be great. Peace
I currently having them on my stock wheels, only had trouble one time during winter/rain because I was stupid. It has good thread life for a set of performance tires. Not sure if it's directional or not, never pay attention to that myself.
And I'm not sure what you were "WTF" about? the directional part or the summer part?

I'm running them on my 08 Nismo...
Stock wheels with 265/35 on the front and 295/30 on the back. Nice tire dry or wet... turn off the TCS and i can get the back loose pretty easy.... softer ride than the bridgestones I had but not as sticky I believe. But a whole lot cheaper to the wallet!

I ran a set of these before I swaped wheels. With the new wheels I am running Invos and have found that Hankook V12s are about the same price in 18" and 19" as Invos. Not sure if Hankook realized they were underpriced or not. I ran the V12s on the track twice and felt that they had a much softer sidewall. Not a great cornering tire due to the softer compound but felt good for a DD.
Their V12 is probably the best bang for the buck sport summer tire out there. Does well in the wet, decent life, good dry response. Nothing bad to say about them. They are directional, however so rotations can be difficult. What sizes are you looking at? Maybe there's an asymmetrical tire in the bunch to choose from.
