Re-finishing my wheels.
I have an '03 Track Edition and I just had to put it away for another winter (screw you Canada). I have new Brembo slotted and drilled rotors to put on and I'm thinking of doing something with my wheels to change things up and make the whole area that much better looking. The black is just boring and incredibly hard to keep clean. I'm thinking of stripping the paint and polishing the lip since they're a fairly deep rim. Then finish the spokes in a light gold or charcoal or something. Opinions? Maybe someone can use photoshop and wants to whip me up a sample, that would be awesome.
Here's a couple pictures of the wheels as they are now.

Yeah I agree they certainly would not have been my 1st (or 10th) choice of wheels. But they were on the car when I bought it and since I need to buy tires this year, new wheels aren't anywhere close to being in my budget. Was hoping I could improve the look of them somehow until I can afford new wheels. And my rural east coast area doesn't make it easy to find buyers/sellers for used aftermarket wheels.

Scrap aluminum is like $.55 a pound, so there's like $300 for ya lol. If money is so tight just save it until you can buy the wheels and tires you want. I find it hard to believe there isn't someone on CL in New Jersey of all places that wouldn't want those tacky things.

Where are you getting New Jersey from? I live in the Maritimes in Canada. Not any big cities around here unless I feel like driving 8 hours. So selling them isn't that easy.

Would love to sell them, I agree they aren't the nicest wheels for the car. But I like a larger wheel on the Z and there's absolutely nothing larger than an 18" wheel anywhere on Kijiji (we don't use craigs list up here) within an 8 hour drive of me. So I'm stuck with these for at least another year or two.

What I'm getting at is I can't afford to buy new. Tuition is rather expensive these days so my options are used rims until I finish my degree and can make some real money. And there's just no options for used wheels here. The best I found were some BBS replicas in Toronto. Which is a 16 hour drive for me.

seeing as how you have limited options, i kinda like overall design of the rims and I would powdercoat the faces a dull/matte gold color with the center caps either white or black. you arent racing the car so dont take it serious, throw a color on the face and see what happens. you can always paint it a different color. I love the Trailer Park Boys show too, Mr. CShepp

If you don't like them, money is tight and your getting rid of them anyways.... Why put any money into them in the first place... Instead you could be saving money for a decent looking set that you actually like...
Here's a bit of wisdom.... If you keep spending on the small things... even a cheap refinish, you take a lot longer to buy the set you want.
Live with it for now, save up and buy a decent set.

Nothing you can do with that wheel except sell them
Normally I would suggest painting a wheel black and that can help to salvage a style but these are not worth spending any money on to fix
My guess is that they are cheap and heavy, get a set of Enkei's and you won't be sorry
