Default Tire Pressure Sensors> NEW RIMS> WILL THEY GO HAND IN HAND

I have an 03 350z performance. Its got the tire pressure sensors and the stock 18" wheels. I wanna get some different 18" or maybe even 19" wheels. Will the TPSensors still work on aftermarket wheels> I am just unsure as to how they hookup to the rims, and thought maybe the stock nissan wheels are the only wheels meant to work with the tps.

-Thanks everyone for your help!

-Dave

The stock TPS will work with some aftermarket wheels. They worked with the ADR wheels that I chose. Your best bet is to make a list of the wheels that you are considering and then post the list asking if anyone knows if the sensor will mount properly in any of the wheels. The alternative is to use the strap solution that was posted here a while back. This way you can use any wheel you like. Run a search for the strap thread.

I just put on Fittipaldi Force rims and they don't allow for the sensors. I'm in the process of locating those straps now and have them on order. They're b**** to find that are long enough to fit around the wheel, but I finally found them. Costs less than $15! The brackets are .19 cents apiece.

With this in mind, I would get any wheel you like and not worry about the TPS. Oh and I got the rims from a local Discount Tires Direct store and no one (including me) knew about it...they offered to remount and balance the tires free!
