Question Winter tires

We are getting slammed here in the Northeast, and as my 350Z is my daily driver I want to get winter tires for my touring 18" wheels. Nokian has a great reputation but I don't think they make sizes to fit the Z.

Any ideas what winter tires would work well for the Z? Any experiences - positive or negative - with any winter tires?

Blizzak LM22's have worked great on the stock 17's. I think they are made in 18's, but very difficult to find.

I've been using Blizzak LM22's all this winter (north idaho winter). And these are by far the best snow tires i've ever seen/used/heard of. Sure, the Z doesnt go very far if we get 6" at once, but the blizzaks are amazing on iced over roads, soft pack roads, and plowed roads. I really think they where worth every penny.

Thanks for the Blizzak LM-22 endorsement; they look good, but only come in 255/55 in the 18". Any other ideas? Can these be paired with other tires for the fronts?

Thats odd, I was able to find them in 225/45 18 front and 245/45 18 rear. Thats one of the main reasons I bought them. Well, besides everyone telling me good things about them (the mustang crowd loves these tires as much as I do. )

The problem with 18's will be the availability this time of year. But there might be a few still out there. I personally wouldn't pair two different types of snow tire together, but if it's your only option....

BTW - I wish I could afford a second set (my wife drives the Z and I drive a mustang). It's unbelievable how much better they improve the snow handling ability of a car.

Thanks for all the info. If anyone has a good place to buy Blizzak LM-22 18" in sizes that would fit the fronts of the Z wheels, please let me know...

Default Pilot Alpines

I am running 245/40/18 Michelin Pilot Alpines all the way around. A little wider than I wanted, but they were on EBAY, can't be choosy. They work phenominal, the car is littlerally amazing in snow. the lower profile makes the car ride even lower though, other than that they are great, and the car looks better too. I would put 225/45/18's all the way around, check EBAY, might get lucky too.
