Hey guys, i'm getting new wheels soon and I need some help. I'm not familiar with sizes 0x0x0 and I was wondering if you could throw some numbers at me.

2008 Base 350z

I want a racing look, but I want it to be flush. I'm getting new tires and rims. I'm thinking 17'' for a more tire look you know? I don't want the rim sticking out near the wheel well, I want the tire flush.

Tire recommendation? I do alot of power driving. Thinking about HP+ upgrades in the future.

I'm still contemplating on rim choice. Budget is small.

You think 17" is to small?

Also if you could post a picture of what your talking about, I would appreciate it.

This is the best thread for answers to your questions:

You should read the entire thread to gain a sense of the effects of wheel and tire size, and wheel offset. --Spike

yes 17s are too small, you will look like you are riding on black cheerios. i think 18s will give you the look you want, with 19s the tires get expensive. 18x9.5 +15 is pretty popular size

that is your one spoon feeding..... btw, dollar to hp increase on these cars suck! (another freebie)

If you track your car, 17” or 18” wheels are best and used by the majority of people who run on the track.

Some serious racers say that 17” wheels are best. That makes sense when you look at stock cars and Formula cars (which run wide wheels with a small diameter, and wide tires with a high sidewall series). --Spike

I did do alot of reading, but I suck at learning. I need someone to teach me. I posted something similar on ********** and since no one responds to anyones post on there, you kind of have to do your own research.

This was my first post on here because I think i'm migrating here..

Are you more concerned with function or appearance? --Spike

I'm kind of tore in between...

My main concern is the rim sticking out of the tire.. I do not want that. I want the tire well to be more dominant. Is that the +15 at the end of the set of numbers? So +20 will have more tire on the tirewell? Or opposite?

I DONT want this....

What's your budget? 18x9.5 +15 front, 18x10.5 +15 rear on 245/40 and 275/40 tires is a common setup. Look in the aggressive wheel and fat tire thread for more specs.

Front
18x9.5 +15
265/40/18

Rear
18x10.5 +15
285/40/18

Flush, plenty of tire meat, aggressive. You'll be able to do all the power driving you want.

Thank you so much. Can you enlighten me on my question I asked above..? So how do you make it so that the lip of the rim doesn't pop out..? What number is that? The width of the tire or something else?

In person slammed cars are awesome...( I jizz when I see them).

But online they look stupid to me..

Then again in reality they are useless driving wise.. that's what really matters.

Look up stock wheel size, then google offset calc, plug in the size, plug in the new size you want or published specs with pics , look at results. Very simple, it's how I learned.

Wheel width relative to tire width. It's about as intuitive as it gets. You really need to do some more research before spending any money on your car.
