Do I Need An Alignment for New Tires
I'm switching from the stock 225/45/18 front 245/45/18 rear to a 245/40/18 front and 245/45/18 rear. This is using the stock 2006 touring wheels. Do I need to get an alignment? I just got one with the old setup about 2 months ago and it's fine now with that setup.
If your old tires wore evenly I wouldn't worry about it. If they didn't wear evenly then yes you probably should get an alignment.
If you haven't had the car aligned recently it probably wouldn't be a bad idea. It's crazy how far out of spec on alignment people will drive around with and think the car handles great.
For what it costs its worth the money. My tires weren't wearing badly at all and I still noticed a big difference in turn in and high speed stability after getting mine aligned.

You do not need an alignment for this tire change.
BTW: You are going to notice and like the better handling characteristics with your new tire setup
